I'm new to TX, but was a member of BMWMOFO and BMWCAA (at one point) up in OKC. I'm in New Braunfels now, but interested in a bmw club, even if it is in Austin and bit up the road from me.

I have an E46, I'd like to get together for a DIY day to learn about owning one, now that I do. First job is the Final Stage Unit resistor - anybody else up for that?
what is the Final Stage Unit resistor?

Its the "Hedgehog" in the ac fan housing inside cabin - when they go bad fan goes wonky, on & off surges, etc. Just bought it last week, its an 03 330ci Conv. but I cant post pictures yet as Im too new, light blue, navy roof very very clean, and I am loving it, that 3 litre motor can move. Other than the FSU would like to get together with other owners for learning/maintenance days ( probably evenings this time of year )
Also new to Texas! I live in Dallas and it's pretty legit. I have an 03 e46 and it's a work in progress. About to slam it and stance it. Pretty excited about the transformation. I never used racelands so I hoping for the best.
Mark,
Well said!
I'm going to the DE at Hallett in September. Any chance you'll be there? Goman is bringing down a crew from Nebraska.
Jim (4 wheels off at MSR - O'Fest 2008) from Houston.
I like that Texas Roundel, I have a cnc machine, might try to make one. So any Austinites up for a DIY Maintenance morning or evening. Maybe just start of with a meet up one Saturday evening or something?? OK let's get this show on the road.

Does anyone in Austin have a Scanner who can help. My car over heated but there is no warning light after sitting for a while.
My wife's car overheated today. Checked the coolant level looks good. we have drained and flushed the coolant about a month ago she has not driven much since then. the car has close to 100k and in excellent shape without any issues. only the overheat lights came on but nothing on the dash now.
Suspect #1 - not bled properly last time
Suspect #2 - water pumpand or Thermostat
what should I do. drain and bleed properly? or replace the #2
Any luck with getting something started in Austin? Im a recent new owner of 2008 535i and would love to get together with some other owners.
