    320/6 for sale

    Hi,
Helping my buddy sell his 320/6. I know the car well becuase it used to be mine. It's a 99% rust free car located in CT. The details are:

    The Good
    1980 320/6
    2.7L M20 with a 81 323i head and cam just rebuilt.
    New weber 38 DGAS carb
    New Fuel pump
    15x6 front 15x7 Alpina rims
New Sumitomo HTR Z 205/50 tires
    Bilstein shocks and H&R springs
    Strut tie bar
    Battery in trunk
    Recaro seats - perfect condition
    Momo steering wheel
    5 Speed
    323i rear disks
    3.91 posi rear
    Euro bumpers
No structural rust anywhere - very solid
    No sunroof which is rare
    Foha Rear Spoiler
    IS front Spoiler

    The bad
    Rip in the headliner
    Crack in the dash
Paint is what I'd say is a 7/10
Small dent on hood were it hit strut tie bar
    Small rust bubble behind tire

This is a quick little car with loads of torque and really fun to drive.
    $3250 OBO. If interested e-mail Chad @ ccimini@ciminiassociates.com

Seats were bought new back in 05 from what I gather (by a previous owner). They are Recaro SE and retailed for around $550 a seat. Recaro has recently discontinued these. Really decent seats for the money if you can find them. Look awesome in an E21.

Too bad the economy stinks. Is a really good car. Rims/tires and seats are worth about 2/3 the price of the car. It's funny how when I wanted a grey market E21 back in 2006 I couldn't find one. Now there seems to be more out there.

That's a pretty good deal for what amounts to a mostly rust-free carbed 323i. GL with the sale

I'll put my first post here to good use...

CHAD! I emailed you about this car. I hope we can work something out.

Like I said in the email, it would CERTAINLY be going to a life-long Bimmer enthusiast, and e21 lover.

    Look forward to your call.

It really is a solid car. I wouldn't have sold it to Chad if it wasn't (he was the best man in my wedding after all). Will make someone a really solid driver or if they want to do a little paint/headliner it could be close to perfect. Mechanically it is really sorted out. I drove it last week and the only thing I would do is maybe a short shifter to tighten that up (I used to my 323i with a MM short shift kit).

Great purchase, lot of cool parts.
My advice would be to do something about the rust in the lower rear rocker sooner than later. Alot of the cars structure comes together behind that area.

Thanks for the tip. I'll inspect the area, and see how extensive the rust is.

If it's not too terrible, I'll have it nibbled-out, and welded. If it's bad, I'll have to replace the panel.

Rust isn't bad right there. Just a little surface. I think you will find if you grind it out it will be very minor. I haven't owned the car in two years buy it hasn't seen rain since I sold it, so I think you will be happy. I will say the shock towers are 100% solid. Had the Bilsteins out when I replaced the rear shock mounts and there is no rust up there.

    Awesome to hear!

I plan on driving the he** out of her, so I hope she's as solid as she looks!

    I have a concours-condition, black interior sitting in my '83 320i.

I am planning to have fun restoring this thing to SHOWROOM shape.

The only mods I plan to the exterior are:

    1) Trunk swap with my 320i (not a fan of the fin, actually)

    2) fix that rust spot, and perhaps undercoat/repaint the rockers and rear-quarter lowers

    3) Antenna delete

As for the interior, I have to sit in the Recaros 1st, but I'm assuming my fat butt won't enjoy them on anything more than an hour trip.

Since I'm the type of guy who'd drive a carbed '82 Bimmer to Texas, I will probably install the showroom-new interior from my '83.

Other than the seats, I will re-do the headliner (I'm thinking a tight, faint houndstooth vinyl.)

    I have a darn-nice dashboard, if needed.

Finally, I'll probably source the Euro gauge cluster, or at least a KM/h speedo dial to replace the MPH unit.

It would be awesome to find one of the same exact year, or a fancy-schmancy unit from a scrapped Hartge or Alpina. I'm sure the euro eBay sites will have something neat to drop-in the dash!

Excited! Now, if the darn freight company would call this week, I'd be stoked.

    Relief!

Awesome! Glad you are happy with her and I can chill now that she made it there in one piece.

The "Sight unseen" transaction is tough - you just don't know what is going to happen next!

Good luck and hope you have as much fun as I did.

If you have any questions once you get used to her, give me a shout!
