MINI Cooper S (John Cooper Works) vs. Volkswagen Golf R32

Out of these two cars, which one would you prefer and why?

Cooper S (JCW) cause of the weight and available modifications.

Cooper S, because it handles better.

Cooper s is not as heavy and more fun. Handles much better. Although R32 is a pretty fast and great looking hatch.

Actually I think they both run close to $30K. A loaded MC-S + Works, and the R32 from VW loaded up, etc...

I think the VW has AWD, though...

Mini Cooper S. I used to have a Jetta and my love for the car died out very quickly. I have never driven either cars, but if I had to pick off the top of my head, I would say Mini Cooper S...I just get this negative vibe every time I hear the word "VW".

I would have to drive the R32 to really say... but it has the VR6 engine and AWD..... *purrrrr*

That's a hard one to decide.

I believe MINI blows away VW in quality.

At least our jetta 1.8T is total crap - 2 years and 41K from new - 11 times in the shop for problems, not scheduled maintenance.
Everything broke - front wheel bearing, 2 coil packs, transmission oil cooler, transfer case solenoid, passenger window dropped into door, you name it - it had it.

no more VW for me, no matter how good perfomance is

Not to mention the fact that you can take a stock MCS and take the $5000 the JCW costs and spend it on other mods to make the MCS even better/faster than a JCW MCS.
