Hello
I have a gearbox and the rear of the casting says:
53 BMW(logo) 225
242.0.291.00
After searh work I have find out this is a getrag 245 close-ratio 5-speed gearbox.
It has the dogleg shiftpatern so 1st towards you
The 5th gear is 1:1
It has also an removable bellhousing as you can see.
My questions are:
Can it be that there is a oilpump in it because there are oilconnections as you can see on the pictures.
Is this a competition gearbox or a street production car gearbox?
Is this real a Getrag 245?
On what car was it and on what car i can find a bell that fits the gearbox (it need modyfing anyway so please all bell's/cars)?
Photo's of the gearbox

Greetings from Holland
Just out of curiosity, are all E30 gearboxes that weird looking where the shifter is?

Heyyy trunions, nice. What was the tran being run on???
edit: Nevermind, that's just holding the shifter, I thought it was a trunion setup like for a formula car
