For those who have dis-assembled a valve body in an ZF 4HP22 or similar automatic transmission, please tell us:

1. How much crud and corrosion buildup was inside, i.e., enough to jam or bind the various sliders, pistons, and/or ball valves?

2. What was condition of gasket(s)? Re-usable?

3. What was condition of springs? Re-usable?

4. How hard to re-assemble to the transmission, if still on the car?

5. Did you use Vaseline or some special goo to hold balls, etc. in place?

6. Where to buy rebuld kit? Price?

7. Got advice on this procedure?
