hi there guyz and galz. im new here. ive just recently bought some oem 745i rims for my e38. they are the v spoke style 126's.
http://www.bmwwheels.com/bmwwheels_d...126&Series=E65
I am pretty sure they will fit on my e38 with no modifications.(correct me if im wrong)
and if they do, i am curious to know whats the recommended size tires should i run? clearance issue or ride comfort wise?
the stock tire size that usually came on these rims i believe (aside from runflats) are 245/45/19's in the front and 275/40/19's in the rear
will these fit on my e38 without any clearance issues using the tire specs above? if not, whats the lowest size i can go for the width and thickness?
For 19x9's whats the lowest width i can go?(225mm?) and for the 19x10's whats the lowest?(255mm?)
i had in mind(if the above tire specs doesnt fit)
235/45/19's and 265/40/19's
if anything i would love to go even thinner tires i.e.
245/40/19's for fronts and 275/35/19's for the rears but i believe they would cost a bit more and dont know if it is recommended to go this thin. i want a smooth and comfort ride.
im just curious what are my options(if any)
any help would be appreciated
thanx in advance

245/45/19's in the front and 275/40/19's rear.
That is what I have now, I love it and it protects the rims from curb damage.
Going smaller will have your rims stick out a bit more
Have a technical question, don't send me a PM but post it on the board so others can benefit from it!
I recently bought a set of OEM rims from the newer 7 series (forgot what style number they are), they are just like Edwins and the stock tire size is 245 45 and 275 40. They do fit just fine with those tire sizes, however to me the side profiles are just a little too thick. It's not enough to bother to just outright buy new tires, however when the time comes I definitely will be buying thinner tires.
Also, due to the large tire size, my whole car went up higher about a qaurter of an inch.
Eventually I would like to be very low, with coilovers and smaller tires are a must.
hey guys thanks for the info.
if it will cost around the same for going thinner tires i.e. 245/40/19's fronts 275/35/19's rears(which i doubt), ill be running those.
oh yea my car has stock suspension and not lowered so will it look a little wierd with thicker tires?
the reason i bring this up is i read a thread not too long ago saying that 45mm tires are thick(diesel-like) tires.
not really sure what it will look like but i guess im not complaining
i currently have 225/60/16's on my car atm. lol
