Is your firewall disabled on the machine?
What about your anti-virus, is that disabled?
Also I don't think you should have needed to change the ediabas.ini file.
This is the thread I was talking about:

Change that.

Ediabas.ini re modified to 196.168.68.1
I changed the IP in vi hosts to 192.168.68.2 diaghead diaghead
and 192.168.68.1(&2) mobilteil
How you don't have IP conflict? your network connection already set to 192.168.68.1 and diaghead also.
Have you tried having everything (Diaghead, mobilteil, ediabas.ini all set to 192.168.68.1?
In your first set up mobilteil was set to .22, my set up copes fine with the potential IP conflict. It's only a potential conflict.
Once you make all the changes restart everything IFHSrv32, Diaghead Emulator, DIS, etc.
I meant to ask, can you ping 192.168.68.30 from your Start->Run?
Can you ping 192.168.68.1 from within you virtual Unix machine (DIS)?
(With DIS, IFHSrv32 & Emulator running)

ping 192.168.68.1 unix no reply
ping 192.168.68.30 start>run no reply
take a look, http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum....php?t=1509735
Settings in ediabas.ini as per previous (i.e. Interface = STD:OBD (or ADS if applicable), RemoteHost = 192.168.68.1, Port = 6801)
In vi hosts:-
192.168.68.1 diaghead diaghead
DIS Administration (Network Setup):-
host gt1ap
IP 192.168.68.30
subnet 255.255.255.0
Antivirus and firewall software switched off, Diaghead Emulator on, IFHSrv32 started before you start DIS.

I GOT IT WORKING!!!!!
I have INPA and GT1 working perfectly fine, however I can't get Carsoft to work. Go figure! It took me about a week of 2hrs a day to get it to work but I got it. My boyfriend says this was the second best Christmas present ever. WIN!
Thank you all for the awesome instructions and help! I definitely could have not done it without these threads.
Now we are messing with the coding on a guinea pig OBDII DME.

rebel, what is your DIS version? Are you using it with easy Dis? What is the different between v44 and v57?
Difference is that v44 was released late 2004 and was the last version with programming and coding capability. v57 requires use of PROGMAN for coding and programming.
I have both v44 using Easy DIS, and v57 using Diaghead Emulator. I am using them on an XP based machine.

I put gt1ap in DIS host I got message: The name already exists in the network!
ediabas.ini already set to ADS
No connection created!
Is there any thing to do with LAN connections?

E30 PM me with an email address that will accept an enclosure and I will send you some info that will help.

How to solve this? Does is matter?
This appears when DIS loading
If I were you I would start with a completely clean slate, install vmware, then EasyDIS, then v44 or v57 as may take your fancy.
Finally, DIS v44 installation completed, working on configuration now. Can I use same v57 configuration for the v44?? I mean the steps I did for the v57.
Yes, just install the DIS v57 files where you would normally install the DIS/GT1 v44 files. Settings to configure the interface are as for v44.
Thank you David for the attachments, Now ediabas, hosts ans scoadmin modifed as the attachment instructions,
Few checks,
Ping 192.168.68.1 from UNIX replied
Ping 192.168.68.30 From start/run replied
Is the three networks setup important?
Something strange here, the IP already entered!
VMnet1 ip is correct, so why I'm getting error: the same ip assigned to another vmnet?
one more thing, I'm using ADS interface so where to change translator to fister?
UPDATE
DIS Connected.
Diaghead emulator connected.

You do need the 3 network adapters installed, don't worry about the message telling you that the same subnet is already installed, just close the dialogue box using the red x in the top left hand corner of the window.
To set the translator to Fister and configure processes so that vm is set to not run, close the IFHSrv32 netserver, then use the Administration button on the DIS home screen and choose "calibrating touch screen" to access the EasyDIS configure-matic main menu. After you have made the changes, close DIS using the 0 menu option from the configure-matic main menu screen. Next, ditch the diaghead emulator and start the IFHSrv32, then DIS (make sure that firewalls and antivirus software has been disabled). You should now be able to connect to your car and run a diagnostic.
Congratulation, It is working The VANOS unit is the first thing I checked
but If I want to do diagnosis on E39 ob2, do I have to change any setting??
This depends on the exact build date of the E39, I would suggest you try your setup as is first.
Its working on e36, going to take a try on e39 2001 as my interface support ads and obd mode.
Special thanks to David, rebel and everybody who helped me.
