Folks,
I bought a 16/9 widescreen and MKIV nav computer. My car is a Nov 1996 750iL and had a 4/3 screen and MKI nav computer along with Video Module and DSP.
Previously I updated the car with a BMW bluetooth module.
I bought the two required retrofit harnesses and another video module that would output 16/9 widescreen.
When everything was installed, there was one plug on the new harness which did not fit anywhere. This is a black 6 pin plug with one spare slot and grey, white, black, red and black wires. These wires come from the bordeaux plug in the MKIV Nav computer. The old harness had a four pin plug that came from the MKI computer and plugged into the corresponding four cable plug which is still sitting loose after the install. The wire colours on this cable are yellow, blue, black and red.
After the install I the Nav computer is working fine as is the television but I have no sound as the DSP is not recognised. I have read on forums that this needs to be coded by BMW.
I have no radio and my bluetooth is not working but I am suspecting that this may be related to the DSP not powering up.
I have tried installing V24 software to get the radio working as suggested on forums but without success.
Does anyone know which of the five coloured wires on the new harness correspond to the four coloured wires from the old harness ? Do therse need to be connected.
Appreciate any help.
Cheers,
Steve
