These are the stock E39 wheels that I think look terrible on E39's (hence the reason they came off the Touring before I got it home), but I sold my Style 5's this friday, and threw the 29's on Cosmo to tide me over while the 72's are re-done.
I won't keep them (in fact, I'm going to sell them), but I think they look FAR better on an E24:
For Comparison:
(and for kicks, what replaced them on the Touring)
who is the peeping tom in picture 2?
2003 M5
2007 X3 6MT
i was gonna say, that looked like don and his goatee...
car looks period correct with those wheels on it, definitely better than on the e39.

Agreed.............the 6'er makes those wheels look like they belong.
PS: The touring is looking sweeeeeeeeeet!
I am a fan of these wheels
Hmmm... Me likey the 29s... What size are they?

I like. All they need are a deeper, polished lip.......

All I recall is dirt, sky, dirt, ambulance....
It's funny how our quest for the correct wheel never ends. Even after finding a set of Alpina's, I still find myself wondering what if. But I don't find myself getting rid of them.
Touring does look great. Amazing how a wheel can make such a change.
Did you need any spacers or is the backspacing at ET20?
They need hubcentric rings.

I used alum over plastic, just thought no issue with cracking.

A lot of the E39 wheels look dated on their cars, but look quite nice on a E24. Style 5's, 42's, 32's, 37's, 65's, etc.

That's not a response I would expect from somebody on Long Island...another island yes, but not Long Island.
