or antifreeze... i'm not inhumane though really, i just want the cat to go jump on other people's cars. on another forum they told me cats hate mint, so i put a bottle of listirine in a spray bottle and sprayed a 2 foot perimeter vampire style around the car... we'll see if it works...

There's an ongoing topic on GolfMKV about the same thing. A lot of sickos are telling him to kill the cat. There are other options, try a pet shop for some repelling products, or if it's a stray you can call a shelter.

As if the cat understands what he's doing when he jumps up on the car. Although I'd be pretty pissed too, I bet a professional detailer can wetsand those scratches out of your clear.

Don't sink to animal cruelty. That's just weak.

I park in the garage so I don't have to worry about this problem. It's apparently a cat that no one will take care of. I would not spend my money to prevent a cat from "vandalizing" my car. (I say vandalizing because if a person was scratching it that's what you would call it)

Anyways, I have a bottle of anti-freeze and some other good junk in my garage, so it doesn't cost me anything.

There are enough cats, I don't really care about outside cats. Dogs are different, other animals are different. Cats IMO fall close to the mouse/rabbit category. Who really cares, if they are pestering you, take care of em.

Buy some wolf urine and sprinkle it around the perimeter of your garage. The cat won't get within 15 feet of your garage ever again.

PS: If you choose to ignore this advice and off the cat instead I'll sleep fine tonight.

Dig a mote around your car with a draw bridge to get out.

place some chicken wire around the tree...or go on a stakeout with two highly hydrated super soakers...cats detest water and try to avoid it.

I feel your pain, I had the same issue with numerous cats, tried everything. Turpentine/ ammonia(cats are supposed to hate the smell), bb gun, calling their mom a hoe, nothing worked until I bought a trap; trapped the little a**holes and condemned them to a life in the wilderness. After capture, I took them out to the country(30 plus miles) flipped them off and set them free by a farm. Coyote food? I don't know, but hey cats have 9 lives and claws!
If you resort to a trap(Harbour freight has them cheap), make sure you put the food under the actually trap trigger; otherwise they will eat the food without setting off the trap.
    Good luck!

Lots of budding psychos in this thread.

If you're gonna trap it, drop it off at the Humane Society at least.

I don't think a car cover is a very good solution as the cover will be loose and the cat might very well dig in for better traction should it jump up.

I'm experiencing a similiar problem, though with no real good solution.
Not so much a signature as a cry for help.

Hold on, saw this in a cartoon once...think I can pull it off.

EDIT: btw: I dig your rotating sig...

Anybody would care if they take care of their car, and appreciate their car, silly.

You should see how my boy responds to water-spots on his '84 Supra, or how my daughter repsonds to tree sap on her '94 325i, or how my youngest son responds to whatever on his neon, or how I respond to parking lot dings on my '78 320i. ---- It's all the same, you care about the car and the efforts you put into it, to keep it well maintained and perty .

    Take care, Robert
