As some of you know, I have a very good connection at a BMW Dealer, the Leasing Mgr is a personal friend going back 17 yrs, and the owner is a former patient of my Dad when he was practicing medicine.
Anyhow, I was talking to him recently about some cars, and he mentioned he could get me a greal deal on a 2003 X5 before the '04's come out, etc.
Tell me what you think about this:
2003 X5 4.4i, Topaz Blue, Gray interior, only options are Cold Weather Package and Premium Sound.
MSRP is $52,595, invoice is $48,085.
I could get it for $49K.
With $2500 in cap cost reduction, 36 mos, 10K/yr, lease, $581/mos.
Good deal?
yummy.... I'll ask bren!

A winter beater for me, Jer... nice beater...
There's a $3000 dealer rebate on the X5 so they may be able to do even better with the price. It already looks like a good price on the lease if it includes tax and license. Maybe ask for 12,000 miles/yr.
SOLD: '96 Artic Silver M3/2 Lux Click here for pic's. 2003 X5 4.6is: Nav, loading floor, comfort seats
2007 E90 335i: Titanium Silver/Black/Aluminum trim, Sport, Premium, Heated seats (for the wife), iPOD, MORR VS7
2011 E92 M3: Space Grey/Black/Blue aluminum trim, Premium, iDrive, DCT
Thanks, aus. I'm probably ok on miles, as it is, my Z3 is 21 mos old, and has about 10,750 miles on it... adding another car the garages will likely lower the mileage on both, etc...
That's good to know about the rebate, I'll ask them if they can go lower, this offer came over the phone, sight unseen.
Thanks for the info!
If ther're not willing to drop the price, ask for a truck with more stuff, like 19" wheels or comfort seats.
That rebate is suppose to be kept quiet, so they may be a little surprised you know about it. Good luck.

Thanks again, man, good advice...
Dave.... ask them what the bloody cheapest X5 they have is. and then ask what the best "deal" is.
if the touring is less than perfect, its gone.

They have tons of X5 3.0's, but I'd want the V8...
Hmmm... 4 DR's, a blower on the 3.0?
Hmmm, Jer, X5 3.0 with the 5 spd, that could take the power/torque of a set up like mine on my Z3, but could the AWD system take the additional power?
I assume so, unless the 4.6is had a completely different AWD set up....????
I'm pretty sure it's the same system on all trucks up until the 2004's when the new X-Drive is introduced.
If you get the 5-speed, you better keep it until it dies because you'll have a HARD time selling it.

Good point, aus. I take it 5 spds are also hard to find?
Actually, the only reason I'd get the X5 3.0 with the 5 spd would be to soup it up with mods similar to the ones on my Z3, in which case, no one would want it after me anyway... :
I wonder what kind of 60' times I could pull with a s/c'ed X5 3.0 5 spd and 4 DR's...?
Damn drag racers... though it would be pretty cool to see an S/C X5. Go for it!!!!

Uniqueness would be kinda cool...
dave, if you get the chance... see what that deal he could do on a 3.0i..... brenda's car is looking less-repairable every day.

Good deal?
Sounds pretty good. I was quoted 729.00 for 36 months with 20K miles a year for a 2004 4.4 fully loaded (except for navigation).
I can ask my dealer if he can match or beat it? Let me know.
