WOW ..... this forum is so helpful and awesome.
Had my 2003 525i for a week now and suddenly the PO491/PO492 CEL came on ?!? OMG, I thought !?
After checking this forum and this thread, I found that the one hose had completely broken off and caused the error code.
I probably helped it die when I was under the hood moving things around and checking things out !!!!
THANKS to all for helping me get this done with the forum sharing. NEXT ?

I hear ya, I would not want to own an older BMW without this forum. These guys are invaluable, as you are finding out.

    Welcome to the club!

My error code is 000023 and states secondary air pump relay fault. The images of the ebox on this post are not remotely like mine, having spent three hours opening the covers. https://photos.app.*******/llloWt63qvu1cx262
If you can open the link above then please tell me which is the relay. It's a 2002 525i E39 with 43k on the clock.
Symptoms included with this are misfire on cylinders 3 and 5
    That's according to my Carly
Car sound rough, but can rev up over 2k. Not sure where to start, and my dealer cannot look at it for weeks due to the recall. Suggestions as to the correct location of this relay would be great. Thanks up front.

Your link doesn't work. With your car being a RHD we'll need a pic. Maybe someone will chime in that has a pic or knows where the relay is. Dennis, you around??

Will try to update the link so it works. It's on my Google drive so I will try to post it elsewhere and post a new link.

Also. Try starting your own thread mate. "I have a question vaguely related to this thread from 4 years ago" is less likely to get attention than "Heres new thread with my new question". I'd be able to help for sure except WDS-planet just lapsed its internet registration again so for time being, no access to the quality WDS stuff.

Hello guys, wasn't sure if it worse starting a new topic, decided to write here. Winter came and car started making this weird noise, here is the video:
    https://youtu.be/-cXT7-YTy-U
this sound comes when temperature is below 32F (0C) as lower temperature goes as more often it squeaking, I don't have any check engine lights or fault codes on dashboard. Looking through the forum thought it might be SAP itself but it doesn't make jet noise only this squeak while moving, it might be check valve or pump itself? Sound doesn't go away when car is warm... If someone has this or simillar problem please share with your thoughts! Thanks!

Its usually best to create a new thread, especially when the thread hasnt been active in months.
The secondary air pump only runs a few secs when the car is first turned on and is cold. It shouldnt be the culprit in your case.

Ridiculously ironic that you post that immediately after a post that says:

Yeah. What he said. Not to mention, extensive research studies show that 99% of "I HAVE DA SAME PROBLUM AS HE DUZ!!!!" posts are wrong and you don't.
