I have a 92 325is with 95k miles and a 5 speed.
When I let off the gas, the car kind of "hiccups", or kind of jerks once or twice, right before you can feel the transmission drag you slower. It will do this at pretty much any RPM, but is more noticable going slower, or with lower RPM's.
My idle is OK I think, it's a little rough, and kind of shakes the car a little bit when sitting in neutral, but this could be from my stock shocks/springs/mounts that I need to replace when I get some money
Has anyone had this problem, is this a symptom of oil leaking near the sparkplugs/ valve cover gasket? or a bad guibo?

Have you checked out the idle control valve? maybe it is a bit sticky.

I believe it may be your coils. 92-93 e36 had problems with them being defective. Search www.unofficialbmw.com for details problems and cures.
im having the same problem with my 99 m3. it seems to "hiccup" worst on downhills at around 3500 rpms. Also, idle is a little rough at times, though it varies.
Nah mine only does that in 1st gear at low rpms. As for the rough idle, it's normal at least on M3's. Running a lighter oil has made my symptoms disappear for the most part.

Hey man,
I'd get your fuel system flushed and get some new juice in there. You might also want to check your intake for gunk buildup. You could also try getting your fuel injectors cleaned if you can't afford to get the whole system flushed.
Like an earlier post said, those cars idle rough....but a well mantained car is always a step ahead of the others.
Thanks,

What my m3 does is when you press on the gass, from coasting, it has a little bit of a jerk, like sort of a pull to it. Other m3's have this problem (e30's) but no one seems to figure out what it is. I think what it is is that the tranny has gotten loose, and when you give it gas, it sort of catches, and gives a little bit of a jolt.
My guess would be similar to Bry's, probably more of a driveline issue than an engine issue.
