Hey guys I was wondering if you could help me with my easy DIS. I managed to get easy dis 44 installed on a VM following the great instructions that were provided. I am currently trying to connect with the yellow head (gt1) and a network cable. Everything is attached however i'm not sure how to setup EASY DIS to use the yellow head. Also do i need a crossover between the lan cable and the yellow head? Are there any config changes i need to make in easydis to use the yellow head/lan connection? When i click on connection setup in the admin section i get an hour glass and then it just brings me back to the normal menu. When i click on Diagnostic head in the config it it does not see any head. Any help would be great thanks!
EasyDIS doesn't work with the real or clone yellow head (GT1 or EDIC) - it has been modified by Fister to work via IFHSrv32 with an emulated yellow head or INPA/EDIABAS without the emulated yellow head.
You need the standard DIS to installed via VMware (with bridged network setting) to work with a real or clone yellow head or a natively installed DIS on an IBM T series laptop with a correctly set up network driver (the hardest part!!!).

Hi Guys
can someone please help with an install issue i have,
here is a screenshot of my problem
Screen-shot taken whilst carrying out ediabas configuration,
In the "perform APITEST"
heres what i get and i am quite stuck now,
EDIABAS Ver 6.4.7, Package: 1.2
Ediabas.ini
Interface = ADS,
RemoteHost = 192.168.68.30 This was the IP given with install guide, i have,
Port = 6801,
I Dont know what other info to include, to ease with help ??
One thing i think i need to mention is my harddrive has a couple of partitions on it, and the default drive letter is "F" (dont know if that makes any difference ??) all dis / inpa / ediabas etc is contained to this drive.

Hello
I have the BMW E36 2.5TD Saloon 1995.
Recently bought the 20 pin diagnostic adapter & a OBDII diagnostic adapter, I basically joined the two together, so I have a usb connector at one end & the 20 pin connector at the other.
Also I have installed the BMW DIS software via vmware on my laptop,
The question is how do I get the software to work with the cables I have?
I've got the impression it will work, after reading other peoples testimonies on here.
I can work out that I run the software on my laptop with the 'joined' cables plugged into my laptop & the car diagnostic port under the bonnet.
What do I do next?
Can anyone provide a set of instructions?
Many thanks in advance.
crap....so i had everything working...(even coded my car yesterday)
i then installed
ncs expert
tool32
inpa
winKFP
now i when i run APItest i get "host error"
im going back and checking these....
1. Incorrect IP address for VmNet 1 (Should be 192.168.68.0)
2. Incorrect or no modifications to EDIABAS.ini file 192.168.68.1, Interface type, port 6801
3. Incorrect or more than one AMD network adapter in SCOAdmin
4. Failure to correctly amend /etc/hosts file and/or /etc/EDIABAS.ini in scoadmin
5. Firewall or Antivirus software running.
6. Failure to start IFHSrv32 netserver before opening DIS
7. Incorrect Translator (Use FISTER)
8. Incorrect Protocol settings (set vm to not run and update configuration)
9. Failure to restart EDIABAS from inside DIS after amending translator or protocol settings.
10. Software incorrectly loaded.
11. Using a diaghead emulator (seperate list of possible faults for this one alone!)

You could check all that, but you would be wasting your time. When you updated these files, the software would have overwritten your Ediabas.ini file (i.e. upgraded from v6.4.3 to v6.4.7). Just go back and re-enter the interface =***, IP address (RemoteHost = 192.168.68.1) and port settings (port =6801) from your original ediabas.ini setup and you will be good to go.
Even though mine works fully, ifhserv shows ip (192.168.68.1) and i can do diagnostics DIS complains about an IP conflict with GT1ap.

Make sure that you have downloaded the complete file, some file sharing sites have a bad habit of indicating the download has been completed when it has not. You need to look at the file size on the download site and ensure that the file you have is the same size.
Hi!
Thanks for the replay to me.
I found the problem, i tried to extract on normal windos..
When i done it on vmware it was fine!
I trie to fined out how i need to mount iso with daemon tools..
I hope i'm gonna..
I'm gonna come back if not...
Thanks!
Joe
i keep getting error 250 when installing dis. any help? thanks!
There is a problem with your DIS program disk. Error 250 means that the installation has not completed properly. Try mounting the original download file using Daemontools and installing from there.
Hi.
I have mounted easydis with daemon tools..
I just think i done it proper..
I setup the bios of vmware to boot first from cd..
But nothing happening...
The windows coming up..
Any help again?
Thanks!!
Joe, maybe I have misunderstood your post, the error 250 message normally comes up after you have loaded the base program and have attempted to install the GT1 program files. If you are not even getting the base program loaded and you have it saved as an .iso file, set your CD drive under vmware to load it from the .iso file instead of using Daemontools. If you just want to confirm that the disk has been correctly mounted with Daemontools, you should be able to view the content from the drive in "My Computer".
If it is saved as a normal .bin file on disk, unmount it with Daemontools and just set the CD drive in vmware to use your normal physical drive.
