wheel/tire combination for 318i

Hey, my first post. I have a 94 318i (automatic) and I want to know some of your recomendations for wheels and tire sizes. I realize that my car basically can't be fast without a dasc or swapping engines, but thicker tires than what i have now can let me go faster in the turns. I also know getting bigger wheels than my stock 15s will slow me down some too, but i want the extra handling ability. I would like to run 17's with whatever the widest tire size is that will fit on my car without any modification. Right now i have the stock 15 inch wheels with hubcaps and michelin 185/60/15. please help!

You could get the 17x8 rims and the widest you could go is 235/40/17 tires. I have '96 328i and 17x7.5 rims with 225/45/17. Rub only when full turn. But anything less than a full turn won't rub.
