i figured that but your going to have a operating OBD port to plug into? Only reasons i ask is i wanted to go turbo but i doubt id pass emissions and this is just abd ass and probally more reliable.
Yes, I will have OBD port hooked up. It only needs 4 wires.

are you mounting it in the motor bay? just out of curiousity! and whats your next step!? I REALLY wanna buy some headers with my college refun check hahaha
Broke college kid trying to maintain bank breaker! Will pay off this summer!
No, I will mount OBDII port inside, most likely in the glove box.
My next step is to figure out who will do the driveshaft for me. Then I need to order bunch of parts that I want to replace before the engine will go in for good (LS7 clutch, few gaskets, etc...). It also got pretty cold now, so no work till warmer times...

haha figures! we have over a foot of snow already in Erie! let me know where you end up going for your driveshaft and how it turns out! you have the wireing all figured out and labeled on your nice pool table ready to plug in?

I was just looking at your engine mounting and i see your engine is mounted quite a bit higher than mine. Do you have any hood clearance issues? I have my oil pan about 3/8" off the crossmember(subframe) and the TB almost touches the hood, your motor is atleast 1/2" higher than mine.
I'm not sure if it looks that way on the pictures, but considering the rounding of the sump part of the oil pan it has about 1/4" to 1/2" between the rounding of the pan and the top-rear of the x-member.
When I close my hood I have about 1/2" to 3/4" between throttle body and the insulaton of the hood.

you both are just using standard F-body oil pans?

Great work so far! I know that I for one would definitely pay for a reproduced set of those headers or at least some specs on how you made the driver's side fit.

as I, I must be mistaken
You have the engine in, you have headers...I know you're working on the driveshaft. Are you working on wiring....or close to putting the front clip back on?
So what's next? Enquiring minds want to know
I'm also wondering if the LS pcm could be used in conjunction with the BMW ACS/TCS. I'm not sure how GM does their Traction control, it might only be ABS modulation.

The front is not going to go on just yet as i will still need to take the engine out to replace few gaskets and a clutch. Also while the motor is out, need to route the heater core plumbing.
Need to find my bmw connecters to make wiring harness adapter. I don't want to cut off one of my m52. Then need to send out PCM for reprogramming to remove vats, tach. adjustment, etc.
As far as BMW ASC+T, it used both ABS system along with engine choking. The choke solenoid and throttle body choke flop are gone with original motor. I'm not even sure if Camaros and Firebirds had traction control. In any case the traction control will be missing for me, but the goal is to have ABS.

Traction control? We don't need to stinking traction control!
Kind of defeats the whole purpose of having more power and that's what the right foot is for anyway.
Well, traction control not so much,...but almost everything has some sort of active stabilty contol these day, and AFAIK it is usually incorporated through abs. I usually turn off my ASC-T, with the exception of rain. My car has felt very skittish in rain at times, though it probably needs an alignment and rtabs.
I forgot about the fact that you'd sekk the Throttle nanny with the M52.

can you use traction control and a e-36 powered ls1 in the same sentence? opps guess so

You need to start selling you mounts and headers. I"d buy from you if I was building.
can you do me a favor? when you get a chance, can you measure from the trans tunnel behind the shifter straight down to the middle of the output shaft on the transmission?
thanks
