Is this a switch of some kind? The reason I ask is the one on the drivers side is stuck down and I sure don't want something that is not right.
Here's hoping it works this time
do a search here for Buffer Stop with Ejector. I replied to a post last week on here with all the info you need. I'm on my mobile or I'd link to the thread for you.
Thanks for the quick response. The one on the passengers side works fine but the drivers side is stuck down. Tried some WD40 to no avail. Guess I'll just have to replace it.
If it's stuck down, that means the spring is gone. You'll need to replace it. If you keep pushing it, you'll end up pushing the pin all the way through and lose it inside the bumper assembly somewhere. Here's the thread I mentioned in my earlier reply: http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum...4#post16999814
To clarify a bit, if it's stuck down, and you push it and there's zero resistance and goes in further, then the innards of the assembly have been lost. If, however, there is resistance, it could be that the adjustment mechanism has been triggered and the pin is being held in. The great Ron Stygar has just posted the information on how to adjust the stops if this is the case: http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...4&postcount=59 (Version 2)
