What's a normal temperature for your coolant to be when the car is warmed up?

I've unlocked the OBC, and on hot days, even while sitting and idling, my temp stays rock solid on 105 C, and when i'm moving, it's about 100-102.

I have a new radiator, and a new water pump.

    Is this a normal temperature for a 1999 740 with the M62tu?

What temp is your coolant usually?

    TIA

105ºC is normal operating temp for an M62. Of course it is going to vary slightly depending on ambient temp, and it will drop a few degrees when you start moving.

    The M60 operates at 95ºC.

It's interesting to watch it when you cold start the car, on mine the temperature gauge goes to the middle when the OBC readout is only at 75ºC.

I believe most engines in general run at 220 F when fully warmed up. So your 105 C is right where it should be.

In hot, hot Las Vegas, 106 - 108 is the norm. Different thermostats, different temps.
