trying to replace high beams no luck

I've been trying to get the damn bulb to go in and lock.

I lined it up but no matter how i push it in and turn counter clockwise i can't get the bulb to lock in.

I've never seen a high beam this frustrating in my life. Im pushing it in as hard as i can and trying to turn it but it wont go. Best i can do is get half of it in.

Any tips?

You're positive you're turning it the right way? Just making sure.
Maybe check if something got stuck in the groove? Idk
