    Wheel conversion to Z3 3.0l 2001 - advice please

    Hi all,

I have a 2001 Z3 BMW 3.0l the (face lift). I think it has a slightly wider arches then the 2.8l? The car is lowered, pretty low, I used the BMW Schnitzer springs, supplied by agents.

I have this idea in mind, has anyone done this, what are your comments, ADVICE PLEASE, and any pics if possible.

The car comes standard with 7.5j front (with 225/45/17), and 8.5j rear (with 245/40/17)...on the BBS wheel.

My idea, I want to put the rear rims on the front, (so on the front 8.5j with a 225/40/17 tyre). and then take the 7.5j front tims and get them made wider...to a 9.5j or more (any suggestions, do's and dont's) and use a the 245/40/17 tyre.

    Will this work?
Has anyone tried it (on their Z3 or other BMW)?
Will it look good? or is it a waste of time?
What is your opinion...all views good or bad please.
Is this the best tyre choice for this set-up?

    THANKS
    Ryan
