    Thumping sound under front seats

Good day to all fellow 6er's. There's this thumping sound and you could slightly feel the thump underneath the center of front seats. Has anyone had this problem before?

    Probably the driveshaft center bearing.

Just had my mechanic check reason for thumping sound and you were right. It was the shaft center bearing. You nailed it and thanks for your accurate advise. Did you have this problem before?

It's a common wear item and symptom. They should check the Guibo while they are at it. It's a rubber doughnut shaped disc connecting the transmission output shaft with the driveshaft and can break apart making minced meat out of it and possibly damaging the driveshaft.

A failing U-joint in the driveshaft can side load the center bearing and cause it to fail. So if the center bearing goes, you might want to look at the driveshaft too.

This occured on my old e30 and it was a $300.00 repair at the local Garage so your mechanic should swap one out for around that price. Check Guibo too.
