This is related to the model bimmers having a reactor instead of a cat.

For a couple months, my reactor service, and egr service lights have not illuminated when turning the ignition key to on posistion. No bigge, I have a year to fix it before the next smog test.

Welp, like an idiot, I never noticed the oil pressure idiot light was not illuminating as well.

I learned something new last night after changing my engine oil and filter.

After changing the oil and filter I was expecting to see a few seconds of oil preesure light ilumination. Welp, it did not light at all.

I figured it was a bad bulb, replaced it, still no go. I found that the oil pressure sending unit was stuck in a position, as if there was always oil pressure. I replaced the oil pressure sending unit from my spare '78.

Low and behold, The oil, reactor and egr service lights all illuminate now, until the engine has oil pressure - yipee!

Anyways, just thought I would share this info if somebody else has a similar issue.
