BTW: the reason the front spacer worked was because it increased the scrub radius which amplifies the jacking affect of the caster. You were right, we would have had to go a bit further to make the front "flat". I spoke with Anthony about springs too, I think he is working on it.

Again, excellent car, scary fast, I would not hesitate to recommend Kevin to anyone.

Thanks again for the kind words and Def for your assistance!

Thank you Very much! It has been a stressful build as many would understand on here! But the stakes are a big part of the stress!

And Nate, and Anthony... YES THAT CLIP! It made my weekend! I was jumping up and down and whoo hooing after that! Unbelievable! Also it looked really awesome flying down the back straight into 7 OMG fast! The incar does NOT do it justice there!

Car seems to be pretty well hooked up. Almost no oversteer. I only saw understeer.

    What tire compound?

    Great car and driving

Thanks, Mike. Michelin Pilot Sport PS2, 245/35/18 F, 315/30/18 R. With the big tire and rear wing, the car was definitely pushing. You may hear me lifting throttle through turns cause the diff wasn't working well and it was spinning the inside tire. We're changing up the rear suspension a bit to get better grip back there and ease up the load on the diff, while transferring more mechanical grip to the front. Even so, I dropped over 2 seconds off my best lap time from October

Thanks! I am going to have to revisit the hood as far as body work here soon... after the race. I am going to be looking into different motor mounts to quell some of the engine movement... and raise just a small portion of the hood that the fuel rail is rubbing on. Then it will be repainted along with the front bumper.

Did you make a decision on yours? Did you decide to pull the trigger and get some for your CF hood?

I will be ordering them tomarrow, if I can remember that is... Super buisy working on my car 14hrs a day makes me forget simple things sometimes like ordering my damn hood latches!!!! Did you get the kind that pushes the pin out of the front? If you could take some pics of underneath and where they mount that would be super! Thanks Kevin.

No turning back now... we're all paid and entered in the race. We are tentatively going to South Bend next Thursday evening in preparation for the start of the race on Friday. On the website for the event our dedicated page was added... when we get going, we will be live webstreaming

    onelap

Look for the link dtronelap.com that is where you will be able to follow along.

Only a few odds and ends to wrap up and we're as ready as we're ever gonna be!

Sorry man... I have been super busy and forgot to do this... but to my knowledge there is only one Aerocatch hood pin setup... that is all I know.

    One lap update!!

    Here's the quick and dirty...

Wet skidpad: We sucked. 52nd out of 68, 8 of 9 in class.
Road America: 7th OVERALL in the morning and again in the afternoon! Up to 2nd in class.
Mid-America: 6th OVERALL in the morning and afternoon.
Hallett: I had a nasty spin in the morning and came within feet of impacting the wall. Despite that, we still finished 12th overall. In the afternoon, I ran 6th overall again (are you seeing a pattern?).
Tulsa Dragway: I had a horribly bogged launch and ran a 12.62 @ 119. Good enough for 14th overall. I had never launched the car before, let alone done it the same way twice, LOL.
In the bracket races, we made it to the top 8 (more luck than skill, LOL. I"m no drag racer!), giving us some nice bonus points.

We currently have a healthy lead, sitting 1st in class (SSGT2 SB) and tied for 7th OVERALL.

Follow me on twitter (Z3SpdDmn) and have updates sent to your phone via SMS for instant updates and when we'll be going live with the streaming in-car video.

Welp... we made it back! So from our perspective we managed to accomplish everything and more that we set out to do. The car ran flawlessly with no issues related to the engine or drivetrain. Only had braking issues that we corrected during the event. In the end we won our class (SSGT2 Small Bore), 4TH OVERALL! Honored marque award (fastest BMW), and ROOKIES OF THE YEAR! So, we are suitably happy! I wanna thank all of those that have been supporting us along the way. Anthony has been writing up the recap of the event and on our One Lap site www.dtronelap.com there are pics and links etc for the complete story! Check it out!

For anyone who hasn't run the One Lap (or followed it closely), you can't imagine what an EXTRAORDINARY ACCOMPLISHMENT was made by Kevin and Anthony.

Anthony -- without a doubt -- is an exceptional driver. He was fast and, more importantly for running with the Big Dogs of the One Lap, consistent. But equally important, the car was incredible and is a testament to Kevin's build skills.

Not only did the car hold up to a wide variety of road courses (and a drag strip -- where I was quicker, but not faster ), it also held up to almost 5,000 miles of transits.

Along with many other One Lap veterans, we were awed by what Kevin and Anthony pulled off!

Sure! Get everything all in there, tested and worked out and prepare for a wild and fun time! (and a little bit grueling).
