    Exclamation E36 Budget Tunes? s52 obd2

    Seeking all forced Induction gods,

I'm about to be in the process of changing my head gasket and will be adding a good gasket and studs from CES Motorsports.
(Also resurfacing the head and block)

My plan is to get a turbo kit from CXRacing as I'm not going for crazy power figure and thought 8 psi would be satisfactory especially for the price.

The issue I run into is that tunes run about $1,500 from RK and TRM. That price is crazy to me for what I'm going for and almost doubles the cost of the build.

My question is, is there any other tunes out there that don't cost that much? can I just bring my car into a performance shop and have them do a tune?
What are my options here? Im assuming, it's go all in or go home. Please let me know if you what you suggest

If you want cheaper, you will need to do the leg work and do some reading, learning and dedicate some time. Go over to romraider, and the guys may help you tune the car yourself. Or find a used tune. I'm pretty sure there is a good nickG 42# tune with a 803 for sale.

Smart would be to buy this http://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/sh...urbo-Tune-OBD2

Thank, i will definitely been doing more research on the matter.
I'm not looking to lower the compression though as i would have to daily the car before starting the turbo build.
Not quite sure how 9-5-1 Comp. would be on stock ECU. Like i said not looking for crazy power figures hopefully above 300
