    check engine code.p1519 & p1525..please help

hello. I recently replaced my valve cover gasket. the next day I noticed my check engine light come on. had the codes read out: p1519 ("A" Camshaft Position Actuator Bank 1) and p1525 ("A" Camshaft Position Actuator Control Open Circuit Bank 1).

this is the only recent work I have done. what would be the cause for this and what needs to be replaced if anything? is it possible the valve cover gasket replacement would have inadvertantly caused this? how can i determine what the issue is and how to resolve?

i replaced the valve cover gasket as i noticed a slight slow leak while replacing the flex disc.

just in case i'm asked. I had it reset, but light came back on after starting engine again

one more thing. i don't have something to read codes, so had them pulled at my local advance auto. not sure what tool was used to pull codes from OBD2

I too now have these same two codes. I clear thrm and usually within a day or two they are back. No one knows what typically causes this?

    Those two codes pinpoint VANOS.

funkymarcus can you elaborate on that because i haven't touched my camshafts or valve cover gasket or anything in the engine and i too have those two codes. Whats the best way of resolving this issue, need to pass inspection. Also have a Intake Air Temp Circuit Range/Performance Problem ( code P0111). I know this is a kinda of an old thread but its better than opening a new one asking the same question.

    or anyone else>?
