18's look great on E30 M3's, and that's what they used in the DTM days anyways.

You can't be concave, and clear a BBK on an E36. You have an E39, and your caliper is behind the wheel mounting point, so you don't have that issue. The two cars are not comparable.
In 18's you can get concave wheels. E39 can run 18x10" square.
We don't currently produce 74.1mm center bore wheels, but a few customers have had their wheel's center bore opened up for E39 fitment. It's an easy process. When the 17x9 first came out, a couple of E39 M5 owners ran them square with 275/35/18's and spacers. Obviously the wheel could have been more concave if it were made specifically for the E39 as there is room for it. But that market is too small, and the wheel is about function 1st, aesthetics 2nd.
BR Racing a local shop is running the ARC-8 wheels on a number of their cars including an E30 M3 they recently picked up. It's on 18's and running the 18x9.5" rear + spacer. I'm hoping to do a side-by-side photo shoot soon.Originally Posted by hyboost

Excellent. Any info you can provide would be greatly appreciated
- Tire make and size used for the 18x9.5 rear
- Spacer size
- Body mods (if any) to make it fit
- Wheel/tire size used in front
We will try to make the 18x9.5 fit in front as well, but I'm not sure if that's possible without Evo fenders.
Thanks

Test fitment was pretty successful. Here is what we learned:
Rear is no problem at all. There is tons of room back there and we just played around with a few different spacers. 12mm appeared to work the best, giving us plenty of clearance even when we actually mount the 255/35 hoosier. If needed, we can go with a smaller spacer and bring the wheel in more...tons of room on the inside.
Front may be a little tougher, but still achievable. Our goal is to make the 9.5" concave wheel fit in the front with a 245/35 hoosier on it (should be fine since hoosiers are soooo much wider than standard 245 tire which is mounted on them right now). The challenge is spring perch clearance on the inside, so we had to push the wheel out with a 20mm spacer (18mm may work too if needed). Outer fender work/pull/stretch may be needed, so we'll see.
Very happy with the look. I'll post final pictures when we actually get it done with the hoosiers.
That looks promising for a street tire at least. Very useful info! A few local friends with E36's are running 245/35 hoosiers on our 18x9's. They didn't look too meaty so I think this could be very doable.
I was definitely concerned with the suspension clearance when you mentioned attempting it. Not sure what your suspension specs are and if you're already running a shorter spring or not.

hyboost, what tires are you running on the white e36 set up (8.5F and 9.5R) for the street?

fender rolling/pulling aside etc. you could just get evo fenders which are cut higher, I think somebody makes some composite replicas out of fiberglass or carbon.

Powerslide, we are running Continental ExtremeContact DW tires: 235/35/18 and 245/35/18
propcar, thats definitely in our plans to lower the weight in the nose. We will be running CF fenders, hood and bumper in the near future. But right now, the cost was significant to do the s54 swap so we're trying to finalize all that before we redo the body. We'll have to get the graphics redone as part of it, so it all adds up. But we added about 100lbs of weight in the nose when we originally dropped in the euro s50b32 in there (with another 30lbs in the trunk from the dry sump oil tank which is massive). While I didn't really notice a handling impact (which was probably nicely offset by the extra hp), I wouldn't mind getting the weight down some more.
We will have the car on a dyno in a few days. We expect low 300's at the wheels, which should be fun in a 2500lb car. We were running with GT3's at Sebring with the euro motor which gave us 283whp. I am looking for 40hp+ increase with the new setup...so we'll see how our current tires handle it.
stop rubbing it in... your car sounds amazing <--- because I'll never drive a car that awesome.

Fronts are 8.5. Purely looks for the street. We ended up with a 10mm spacer up front just to bring the wheel out to match the aggressive look of the rear. I didn't like how far in the front looked without the spacer. So going with the 9.5 front would have given us a nice aggressive concave look without the use of a spacer which I wish we could have avoided.
Purely personal taste, completely based on looks.

They do look good!
The concave of the 18x9.5s looks amazing on the E36 body.
Just wish there were 17s with that concave offset. To me certain color combos
(body and wheels) makes the 18s look to big for the E36, others pull it off.

Don't know why it keeps doing that. Sorry for the duplicate posts.
