Are there new panels one can buy to weld in or do you need to cut out an intact one from a donor car?
Mmm. Well.. I suppose both. I imagine at one time the factory sold individual panels. Now its probably all used panels removed from donar cars. E36 are getting rare to find panels for. But e46 are common to find. I know some e36 cars are getting e46 rear quarter sections. Some people do it just to fit larger wheels or tires that e46 panels allow.
Back under the knife she goes.

Replaced the fuel pump with a new VDO unit, ol one had 180K. I have no idea if this is why, but the car is running better. Not under load but under higher temps and idle. Makes 0 sense

I just fitted a new windshield washer motor. Pretty straight forward job, and seems like these motors are almost the same across severall models and brands.
After years, i remembered I have 2 m90 sitting around from exhaust scavenging expiriments years ago.. I figured since il have a built b30 coming home soon, there wont be any better time.. Cut off the inlet 5" down. Now she will fit with a custom made inlet in any direction. Better 5 yrs late than never? Should get atleast 10lbs out of this sucker.
Engine bay paint before the swap starts.IMG_20200719_151533.jpg
Tore my engine mounts and cracked my front subframe. Didn't think I drove my car that hard, but it was enough to crack the subframe and tear the mounts after 5 years.
Turned my short season even shorter as I'll be doing a bunch of maintenance while I'm in there.
Not sure if a Z3 subframe will fit or not but I have an extra already removed from my donor. I believe the Z3M shares the M3 front subframe so assume it would fit your e36 chassis.
Installed an Active Autowerks stage 2 supercharger kit....in the trunk.

Yea, I'm pretty sure my front subframe was cracked even last year. My rear subframe points were fine when I reinforced them last year. I was planning on doing mounts after this season, but I guess I was too late to that.
Thanks but there's a local BMW breaker that I'll be picking one up from later this week!
Replacing my rear 4” stock speakers with 6x9’s
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Got the rears out. I don’t speaker much but I am almost certain these are in mint condition if anyone is interested. But on a side note I’ll just put these in for now.

As of now I will not be utilizing anything from the old speakers other than removing the plug that wires the 4” and tweeter and I will be directly soldering the leads to the proper connections on the new 6x9’s to keep it plug and play. Which will be attached to the speaker adapter. I have a large sheet of abs that I will heat shape to encase the speakers per OEM feel, but will be done in at a later date.

Only using the plugs.
