True, why i asked if it was velocity, or engine Speed dependent. If its constant def not Diff. Mine would increase and decrease if accelerated or decelerated, but would remain if i put in neutral or put clutch in while coasting.

When i had a wheel bearing go on me a few months back, i was able to tell from the rotor as it had been scratching the Caliper bracket on right hand turns and had started to etch a circle into the rotor. Jacking it up and checking for play works too

I did have it done by a reputable shop, but now that I have more time I may attempt this myself. At first I thought it was just because I put poly RTAB's in and could hear more. Now it's just driving me nuts. I've been watching videos and may invest in a bearing separator and the parts for a home made puller.

Purchased the tires I needed for the 18x9.5's... never would have guessed 235/40 were over half an inch taller than 245/35 in RSRRs... but very interesting they are 1/3" shorter than the 255/40/17 Toyo RR I ran briefly.

Section width is equal between the two, tread width is only 228mm on the 245s though... 9"... thought RSRRs ran wide...

Guess you cant believe everything you read on the internet these days.

Replaced the starter on my S50, manifold gaskets some vac lines and my vac line to my FPR, it was so dry rotted. Hopefully I never have to do another starter. None of that was fun.

Nice, what are you triggering your fan off of?

If you're tapping off the radiator fan switch your car will actually run cooker with the A/C on lol

Did my VCG...again. Replaced it with a Victor Reinz a year ago and developed a leak at the rear above the exhaust mani. Began to leak and smell like burnt oil at start-up. Not sure who makes the OE version but hoping it solves my problem and it's not a warped cover. I don't think the older metal versions warp as easily but we'll see.

Do you mean the rad fan power relay? I have the ignition wire running to the purple/black(?) wire, and the wire that controls when it spins is spliced into the higher temp wire on the fan switch.

I would go off the low temp. Better to kick on sooner than later.

Try it on an e46 AWD with an automatic, talk about stuff in the way. BTW I didn't pull the intake either.

It really wasn't that bad, but compared to the last starter I did (small block Chevy, in my 68 Camaro) it was rather involved.

I bought both of those but ended up selling them because A. You need a 300$ conversion kit for obd2 and for the fan I didn't know which wires to tap into I was thinking. Of maybe the aux fan low side

My Bimmerworld M50 IM adapter was $170... and I used a Spal aux kit for my fan.. $40, wired off ignition.

I just wired my fan to a switch inside. Easy peasy....took 10 minutes and only cost a me a switch, some wire and connectors.

Headliner fun. Grill brush, water-based degreaser and a shop vac made short work of it.

Did this job on the m54 in my e46, not a hard job but a lot of stuff to move out of the way.
