Did we just become best friends?
Replaced power steering pump. God it feels good to not have to hear that annoying moaning and groaning when turning the wheel. It feels even better to not have wrench the wheel with 100ft/lbs of torque to turn left or right at a standing start.
My half assed attempt to repaint some stone chips I over sanded. Made it through to the primer and touch up paint didn't do the trick. Resprayed a section with black and clear lacquer, isn't even close to the Cosmos Schwarz metallic, and my blending skills suck.

After a month of waiting my LTW badges showed up in the mail. Forgive the filthy car, it's been monsooning for the past few weeks and very dusty from the winds so washing is futile. I could have waited, washed and waxed for the glamor shots but the impatient bastard in me needed to share now.
The strip of missing paint is on the rubber seal for the gfx. I need to get some touch up paint to hold me over until the car gets repainted.

Finally have working speakers up front. Put in a set of Pioneer TS-A1306C and..... It sounds like ass lmao.
I have a Alpine CDA-9815 head unit with the high (speaker) level outputs going to the factory amp's input. Perhaps it's too much for the amp to handle and I'm overdriving the front end. I'm going to try bypassing the amp tomorrow and seeing how that sounds.
Yesterday was a huge day! Bilstein B6 went in, front and rear along with front and rear reinforcement plates and mounts. I put in the RTABs with limiters and the proper tool made a huge difference. I couldn't imagine how painful it would be drilling or melting it out. I also managed to do the flex disk yesterday, and it's not a hard job as much as it is a pain in the butt for all the stuff that has to be unbolted.
Today the car is getting an alignment to the Definitive Alignment Guide specification as I installed shims this time around. I can't wait to get it back because Saturday I have about 1000km to drive.
I've had that problem with my E36. The previous owner installed a passive crossover to tune out the factory amp. Stupid solution. I'm removing the factory amp today and splicing the new head unit + amp into the factory wiring. Looks like its like unshielded 24-28AWG cable that I'll probably have to replace anyway.
Not sure why they'd even do that. The amplifier already has active crossovers built in, hence why you don't see LC filters on any of the speakers like you'd see with cheap speakers.
Im going to splice the inputs to thekr respective outputs later today and mount the crossovers in the trunk right on top of the amp. The amp's going to be left unplugged anyway.
Man I had a fruitful day yesterday!! I started with new windshield washer nozzles, then I put in a new headlight switch, next was the dreaded brake light switch, a new grommet for the windshield washer pump, and the finale was the white gear in the driver seat recline function. Whew!!! but it is really nice having shite work!!
Bypassed the audio amp in my car and wired in crossovers in the rear for ultimate stealth.
Sounds sooooooo much better now.
Sold my cabriolet...
Had to take my winter beater on the road sooner.

You even painted the parts you worked on. I'm so proud of you *single tear drop*
Finished installing cruise control for 316i. Now it works. BMW has stopped manufacturing cruise control bowden cable for M43 engine so had to gamble and order M42/M44 cable, but as I suspected it works just fine.

I diiiiiiid hah, you know i gotta rep BF out here so i cant be doing half ass work ;] Minus the Rust prevention, everything is going to look a million times better with a fresh coat on it.
Im finally at the point where i can start putting it all back together. I go on vacation on Saturday for about 15 days so lets see what i can get done by then.
Don't rush it.
Nothing Haven't touched my car in like 2 weeks. Need to figure out the wheel shake at ~50-60mph and a weird sound from the rear end before my next track day on September 8th.
