    Oh jesus. My condolences.

Today I removed the door latch mechanism. I cannot wait to try wiggling everything back into place on reinstall... Cannot wait!

Also wired in one new 6x9 rear speaker.

Soldering the wires up there sure was a back breaking fun time.

Nice! Did you do anything Special? Im Tuning for the S52 Cams + the M50 manifold +7k rev limit. Coming from the Base 2.8 map it should be a nice bump in power!

And no not Yet! My wife does however (in HR), shes been there about 2 years. Besides the obvious reasons why, its awesome for me as i get all the swag free. I will have to graduate before I can even think of applying, but that IS the plan.

Pretty basic stuff, my engines mostly stock due to the SCCA Solo class I'm in (STR). I tuned for CAI, pulleys, headers, high flow cats, catback, sap and rear O2 delete. Not much power added but I'll take what I can get to squeeze out whatever I can given my mods limitations.

That would be a sweet gig to get. I'd gladly take any extra swag you got I'd offer some from my job but we don't really have anything cool like JPL does lol. Although maybe soon we'll be working together after the L3/Harris merger is official.

I feel your pain, mine are almost as bad, but my jack points are rotted too.

Eastwood rust treatment and premium encapsulator are both stellar products. I’ve also used POR15 on my E36 build with quite a bit of luck.

I've tried almost every rust treatment and I think I had the best luck with the Naval Jelly brand. I'm going to try and weld some flat or angle iron in and connect the jack points.

Lots of new photos! Update: https://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/s...-update-thread

Alright, everyone! The big job has begun.

The E36 has hit the track around 6 days now. We are driving completely stock and 15'' rims. (very light).
As you could have read before, I've purchased a new coiloverset and new 17" wheels (photo's later).

We knew the previous owner didn't do a lot of maintenance, actually; NONE!

We have a lot of rust, the E36 jack points the sideskirt over the rocker panels is been put on with only KIT, so yeah I could look right in and it is looking bad.
The maintenance has started, pulled the side skirt off and that was scary!

It has had an accident on the track with the left rocker panel in the past with the previous owner.. but today we started to find out how bad it was!
We ordered new e36 4 door rocker panels (we could not buy good quality coupe parts anymore in holland).

Here in the coming 3 posts, i'll show you around the car, how bad it is.

While stripping the side skirt off we saw the jackingpoints were gone, but also the rockerpanels!

Have a look at the photos! :

Wiped the dust off of it, sat in it for a few moments. Locked it up and reminded myself not to take it out of storage for a couple more months.

Silly... I hopped in mine, turned off the traction control and slid it around the whole drive to work.

Admittedly I did the same thing to my Austin Healey Sprite the other day that you just did to your car.

Swapped lock wafers into new door handle and didn't lose anything!

I also cleaned my key with a toothbrush and some spirits.

M3 probably coming out in June-ish. Or whenever I finish spring cleaning on the house and have weekends off.
