might as well whore these pics out more. 16x8.5 all around, '88 C4 wheels.
All of $50 in wheels, spare winter tires, and $15 spacers...Had a very sketchy moment or two last week (snow with summer tires). Usually just put the M3 away but like having it as a 3rd car. Last week my truck got left at my wife's shop and I ended up driving the M. Logistics of adulting sucks.

^^ reminds me of the C4 salad shooters, def makes for a cool winter set up. Wheels match pretty well (id say).
All new coolant and vacuum hoses. Missed a couple that are either NLA or easy to get to with everything back together so I'll get those soon.
It was definitely due for refreshing. Might as well do it now while I can, as opposed to when I have to.

I have the same work light.
New leftmost hose clamp isn't in line with the other two. Sloppy.
Otherwise looking good!
Might as well scrub some parts while they're easier to get to. New PCV and gaskets of course.

Theres not much to it. I snake my long twiggy alien arm under the intake manifold and Unbolt the starter wiring without removing the intake. Or you can remove the intake manifold and make it easier. Once the wiring is disconnected, you get under the car and disconnect the exhaust midpipe, the front half of the driveshaft, and the tranny brace. Lower the tranny a few inches on a Jack and Unbolt the starter using a 24 inch extension.

I did this job on my 325i a couple of years ago. Something very gratifying about taking the manifold out, installing new hoses and cleaning years of accumulated grime. Made it easy to clean the ICV, change the fuel filter (location on early models no bueno), lube the steering coupler, and install rebuilt injectors in the fuel rail.
Had a slow coolant leak and saw that it was dripping from the fan sensor when hot. Replaced that crush washer but still had a slow leak near the bottom of the reservoir. Took out the expansion tank to investigate... cracked after 156k. Ordered Genuine BMW replacement as I read mixed reviews about the plastic quality of the other ones. $89 from ECS.

I went through all of the necessary steps to replace the cabin air filter. Got the old filter out, vacuumed up all of the mess, went to install the new filter when I noticed that the vendor handed me an engine air filter instead of the cabin air filter as I'd requested.
Intake Boot had some cracking in it, so i swapped in a non-ASC boot as a replacement.
The Throttle Bodies between the ASC & non ASC models appear to be the same, however the ASC models have this Black adapter ring that goes to the ASC Throttle body
Taking that off reveals the Lip that the adapter snaps into, which is exactly where the non ASC boot falls in line as well.
Can you tell?
Also FINALLY received my OEM "M-Technic" Sedan Door trim. The M-Technic Badges are like gold at this point, and i dont think there were any US Spec sedans available with the M-Technic package. Super stoked. Waited about 2 months for these to get in from the UK.

Pulled the drivers side sideskirt off to assess the rust damage, didn't think it would be this bad. 20 1/2 years in the north with salted roads leads to this. The factory jack points inside the rockers have broken loose too. Sad because the drive train is nearly perfect and IDK if I'm capable of a drive train swap into another chassis.
