I like the through bolt idea. May be better just to keep around and toss in at slidey events!

That's why I always assemble suspension parts with anti-seize.

Put the freshly painted fuel filter cover back on, kind of a shame with all the rust around it.

First hand wash in a long time, and yes that is snow on the ground. Listening to Jimi Hendrix while washing took me back to the old days, just didn't fire up my 8 track lol.

Snows came off today, if it snows again I'll just stay home, the DWS's should get me any place I absolutely need to be.

Went junk yard shopping for a few things. One of the knucklehead POs decided to glue the plug on for the temperature switch in the radiator that kicks on the auxiliary fan. Never seen anything like it....had to destroy the plug and the terminals are still stuck in there ordered a new switch so i grabbed a new plug to solder on ,...actually 2 new plugs.

Then i took apart a rear sway bar on a 328i to see how it mounts and what hardware i need....was gonna grab the hardware but it was basic enough i will pick up new stuff. One of the POs of course took the rear sway bar off my car im gonna get an OEM M3 bar and mount it to see how it handles. I have stiff rear spring rate (700) but i still think it could benefit. That car was a gem btw..carbon fiber look hood wrap..who does that

And then I picked up something I had no intention of getting...M50 intake manifold. Eventually i plan to do the swap and I was there and it was there...... Looking at ebay prices if I dont end up using it i can sell it for a decent profit.

I was also looking for the cooling ducting to the alternator mine is missing....that must be one of the first things to go struck out. also noticed there were way more e46's and every single one was missing the front subframe

Someone Came and Dropped off a rear sub-frame for some Work yesterday. Performed a Full Power-flex Poly Bushing Overhaul withdiff bushings, & All New Ball Joints. I like the way the Purple Contrasts with the Black, although They dont smell as good as Revshift Bushings. Also, I think the Meyle Ball Joints have a better Design than the Lemforder Ones, Less hassle for install.

The Top - Forward Rear Subframe mounts had good clearances for the Sub-frame welds.

Removing and testing the Crank Position Sensor later. Kind of hoping it is way out of OHM range because I just would like a quick diagnostic-confirm-replace procedure here. The M3 just needs to last me until I can get a decent daily and put it in the shop

Anybody have ceramic tint? I'm thinking of getting some light tint 35-50% when I take the car out of storage this Thursday. The summer heat is just too much to deal with a black interior.

I'm excited to take it out of storage, but that's the one thing I'm not looking forward to. The black leather seats burn and I don't like getting sweaty driving haha.

CPS was at 553 ohms so that appears to not be the culprit. I dunno. Replaced my thermostat and housing while I was in there. Time to go buy some gear oil

New fluid didnt do too much to quiet the rear end down, the old stuff was extremely worn and thin. I forgot how bad old gear oil smells

I've seen people carbon wrap a real carbon hood when the epoxy yellowed. I picked up a used carbon hood that is yellowed, but I am going to paint it.

Not mine but a friend's, started looking for his oil leak. Pretty sure it's a combination of the OFHG and the Vanos oil line.

I would recommend replacing the oil filter housing and then checking for leaks

I'll just do the gasket and hose, a new housing is probably worth more than the car.

Sorry....I was being sarcastic. You posted pictures of it with no housing but your wording sounded like you were still diagnosing the leak. So my recommendation was to put the housing back on.

And now that I had to explain it, it was a terrible joke.
