Alignment and inspection, only $96.
I replaced the control arms a couple weeks ago. The steering wheel was close to straight and didn't pull to either side, so I put off the alignment.
Glad to finally not have to worry every time I pass a cop. The inspection was a bit past due.
The oil filter housing on my engine needs a 25mm socket or large adjustable wrench
i was was surprised I needed that large a socket
In Holland we do have an automatic ticketing system after 2 weeks passing your last check moment.
Its 250 euro's. (wich is high i think). Don't you guys have that?
Not my car, but over the past 2 x weeks, been working on my Dad's 97 328ci. Definitely glad I brought my Quickjack 5000 and damn I love that thing:
Engine Mounts
Control arms w/ bushings
Tie Rods w/ end links
Sway bar bushings
Front struts
Rear shocks w/ rsms
All brake lines
AC compressor w/dryer and lines
Water pump w/ Tstat
Intake manifold gasket/vac lines/CCV
Now, waiting to bleed engine coolant, refill AC - all because I couldn't muscle on the control arm bushings onto the control arm (done it countless times, but the non solid e36 bushing gives too much) so i'm waiting for the tool I finally ordered....been a good, long project while I've been visiting. Car should feel great when I get it back on the road here this week!
***EDIT, so managed to get the control arm bushings onto the control arm with EASE this time. You can rent a bearing tool set from Autozone. One of the deep cylinders has a circular hole that is slightly bigger than the bushing and fits over the control arm. You just flip it so the butt is up against the CAB and use that to pull the bushing on...wow, very easy!

4 wheel alignment
in retrospect I should have had it checked when I got it; far enough out to chew up the rears real bad in 5000 kms
Funny this popped up.....just got back from picking up the car from the shop for the alignment/AC recharge after all the work I did.....car was hit in the rear during their test drive. Trunk destroyed, damage to body above rear bumper.....probably totalled.

Ok thanks - I mis-remembered - the 25 is the torque marking on the nut

Thanks your reply saved me buying the wrong socket
Had some strange wear on tires that were on the car when I got it (on style 39s)
was not planning to do new rubber till next year, but..
had a different set of rims, so put BFG 225/40r18 on the rear pair and kept the rubber on the front pair
alignment, balance and “new” rims and the car feels smoother
btw, is there a market for style 39s that are showing some delamination?

Sadly, when it’s going to happen it probably will. Got hit in the rear last year - wrote off my previous convertible (non bmw) - stopped at a red light
Just received delivery notice for my new Momo Monte Carlo steering wheel to replace my old ratty suede one. Installing tonight and adapting the old wheel to install on my Logitech setup for some pc and xbox racing.
Picked up my painted nose cone in #668,with headlight washers also had a preventive anti rust treatment, both inside and out, almost ready to retrofit them

Finally got to sorting out the Passenger Seat Occupancy sensor causing my airbag light troubles.
The guide I followed:

Wrapped my skirts, front and rear trim under the lights, gas door and put on new rear brake pads. Lots of local shows this week so I will taking a ton of pictures
Daily is in the shop for some warranty work, so I am driving the e36. Still need to get the ABS fixed on it, probably start on that once the daily is back running.
Added a CD changer to the trunk - better music than radio
I have noticed that the seatbelt warning light will linger slightly longer than it normally would before this solution, although it's only a matter of 2-3 seconds then it does not come back on. So I'm happy with the outcome, but I wouldn't know better. I'm still Green when it comes to automotives.
Tan Top on the E36 is dead. Stitching is failing. I guess 8 years isn't bad considering the hell I put it through. Now I wonder if I go Tan again or Back to Black.

I coded out my occupancy sensors a long time ago. I also did the seat belt buckle ones because I put E46 sport seats in.
