This is what it looks like now:
This is what i'm turning it into. I want to keep the red, and I eventually want to do a full two-tone red/black interior. So instead of red paint, it's red carbon fiber:
So far i only did one of the trims to see how it would turn out. It looks good to me
You can see here that the fabric is two sided. The other side is a lighter shade of red. Almost like pink.

Original.... congrats
I would like to see all black, or black carbon fiber.
I will have to wait until it's installed to judge...
Looking for an E39 belly pan , passenger front inner fender liner …
To each, his own. Please do post up pics when you're done.
iirc you have black int with the red trim.. looked like total ass before.. the carbon fiber red will make it look very very good! looking forward to pics
hi i'm nickmanderfield.com and i hang out on the internets,
i also recently started to sell carbon fiber coasters.
ok. So I think i've finally found the perfect material for the trim. Since I want a two tone red/black look, this is what I got:
It's so soft and delicate looking i'm afraid to even touch it
I dont know how i'm gonna manage wrapping this around the pieces.
Looks good bro
so after much experimentation with the CF fabrics and different ideas for colors, etc., I remembered my friend's e46 m3 and his interior. Last summer when I saw that color I fell in love but didn't bother to pursue the same route, well that is until now.....
Here is a piece of his trim:
I love the color. It's red but not bright and since he has all black interior as well, I already know how good it's gonna look in mine.
Got it color matched today at a local paint shop since he doesn't remember the exact paint he used. According to him it might be a Honda paint color Oh well w/e works
Can't wait to have them professionally painted and installed (probably in the next two weeks or so).
good luck
You taking it to Izy?
imo red is too bright for interior colors, but I can't wait to see the finished product.

Well, after a few months it's finally done! I love the color. Can't wait to install it in the car. Probably later tonight.
The camera doesn't capture the color exactly, but more or less it's close.
Next for the interior is either a black or alcantara headliner and then matching two-tone seats (Black and the color of this trim).
