Help!? I got That Stupid Worm On My Laptop

How do I get rid of this stupid worm. Someone please help. :

I just set up my computer last night and got it within 5 minutes. Go to Microsoft and download all the updates for it. I'm assuming you are running Windows of some sort. It most likely is the Blaster worm The patch is MS03-26. Hope it helps!

or if you got it from using kazaa or another p2p download bulldog, its a trial version but it does its job really well.

Get the removal tool from symantec then patch it.

Yeah I got it from dialing up from work. If update my AV will I be safe from it the next time I dial up?

You should be save if you update your AV and run the MS patch on it. MS webpage was not loading last night I'm not sure what the status is now. Safe until someone sends out a new virus.

AV will catch the existance of MSBLAST.EXE but won't stop your RPC from buffer overrunning - only the patch can do that.

How do you know if you have it?

After you open IE or whatever everything will be good for a while then after a few minutes a window will pop up saying that windows needs to shut down in 60 seconds and a countdown will start. Then you have 1 minute and it restarts. It's the RPC window that LinearX was talking about. Hope it helps. Mine restarted 3-4 times while I was downloading patches and searcing for the problem. Hope all have a speedy and great recovery.
