So, last Friday I went to the Ring with a few friends to watch the test runs of the VLN Race, which was held the day after, and the DTM Revival, which was the main reason we went. To take the chance to see those never forgotten legends in action.
First off, for the complete Gallery with 216 pictures, visit my site: www.bochmannphoto.net
Arrival at one of the Nürburgring's many parking lots. My E36 and my friends Opel Corsa and Ford Sierra Cosworth.
Spotted some nice cars:
Sierra Cosworth
Alpina E36
Benz 190E Evo1 (I think... might be just a 16v? I don't know all that much about these)
Then we went into the paddock which was open for the public and spotted a number of interesting cars.
Then it was time for the DTM cars to hit the track:
Then they let out some of the VLN cars...
Then we went back to the parking lot, to get some new batteries for my camera and the helmet of one of my friends because he would be riding shotgun later in the day in a blue E36.
Spotted some interesting things...
Then we went back to the stands to watch the track again... They pulled out the DTM cars again for a few slower laps around the Grand Prix track.
After that the VLN test runs started.
mmmmmmmm love the new sciroccoooo..
great pics!!

Then we went back to our cars and again spotted some interesting things.
Then we drove up to Schwalbenschwanz at the Nordschleife and set up a small BBQ there, after the track closed down for the day, we actually went over the barriers to have a look around and take some pics.
And since I had some chalk on me, I just had to sign something on the track.
So, this was my friday. It was awesome seeing the DTM cars in person. And let me tell you, as nice as those DTM E30s sound, the Sierra puts every single one of them to shame. The most evil 4 cyl I've ever heard.
Sweet pic's, I love the chalk!
Awesome pictures! I'm so jealous. Would it be possible to get a high res version of the third to last picture (I think it's #215)?

Sure, what resolution do you want?
/edit:
Will 1600x1200 suffice? If you need a different res please say so.

Haha, I knew you guys would appreciate these. Glad you like em.
Yeah, it's 24€ (32$) to run one lap. You can get reduced tickets if you buy a ticket for more laps, you can also get a All-Year ticket, so you can run the ring to your hearts content for a year. Costs about 1000€.
Sick looking pictures. Man that would be a fun trip.

Awesome pics! I had no idea that the XR4Ti was sold as a Ford in Germany.
Nice pics...That Opel Corsa brings back memories! My parents had a red one just like that when we were stationed there...Also had a baller ass VW Westfalia Vanagon.
damn that looks sick as fuck sick as fuck
Glad you guys all approve.
I'm a native german, born and lived here all my live.
It was actually a european design and was only sold as a Merkur in the US. Everywhere else it was sold as a Ford. There were quite some bodystyle avaible, even a pick up, though thats more than rare nowadays, never seen one of these in real life myself.
