Looks like you guys had fun doing it I love the feeling when you put new parts on the car, its something else. Even something that doesn't need replacing. I did the same with my control arms, I don't feel any difference since the old ones were ok, but its a nice feeling Congrats on the new suspension

Dude, I'm impressed! I remember back when you used to ask questions about some easy stuff! Nothing better than a little OJT. Who's skeered? Not Orxan... me, on the other hand? No way in hell I'd try and pull that off in my garage!

Ha! He's smart enough to hold the beer and chips while he supervises. It's good to put faces and voices with the words on the screen.

Actually they are as follows, an MGB Chassis for my dad(welding and painting for me), a 74 Midget all original(even original rust, all together in need of a clutch repair) and what will be a custom 65 midget with a 2.5 liter iron duke engine, 5 speed, custom vega rear with limited slip and 2.92 gears. now if I just had the energy to work on any of them.

    Wow Orxan! Impressive, most impressive!

I wish I had the balls to pull off the subframe and struts at the same time in my garage...I'll have to do my suspension work 2 parts at a time....and slowly at that.

Great job! PS, how does the car feel now?

I've never seen anyone pull the subframe to work on the suspension, but it makes total sense. Props!

That is exactly what jack stands are designed for. The car never moved a millimeter the entire time we were working on it.

The springs came installed on the shocks, all that was needed to bolt the bearings on was some hand pressure. The fronts on the stock setting were easier with a second person to start the nuts on, but could have been done by one person if needed.

We also were doing the motor mounts and the swaybar so the subframe had to be dropped no matter what, since everything was coming off we figured it would be easier to just yank it all.

There were a few details that might have been somewhat easier on the car for leverage sake, but I suspect the issues of dealingwith the fenderwells would have balanced out in the end.

Taking the subframe off completely makes a ton of sense. Very handy work. For leverage sake, you can counterhold everything and have someone brace the frame on the ground. I think you guys did it the best way possible. In the next 100k miles, I will remember this.

H&R sport, bilstein sport vs Pss

As for the ride the Pss are similiar overall as to the H&R sport springs with Bilstein sport. The pss are a little stiffer over bumps ( a bit jumpy ) compared to the other.
    Stiffness:
H&R sport with Bilstein sport - 7.5 out of 10
    Pss - 8 out of 10

Guys, there are 3 reasons I cant share my opinion as of right now:

    1. coilovers arent adjusted the way I want it, and the car still needs an alignment

    2. my rear tires are toast

    3. because of the above I cant push the car yet, not to mention the fact that im not used to it

so far the ride is pretty stiff, but I love it. its not jaddering by any means. handling wise I cant give you any details, as it feels about x999999999999 times better than before. Still, I have room to make it better (alignment, new tires) and then I can tell you what this setup does and doesnt do well

You should come to Englishtown, NJ for a late-May drift event. So I can ride in your car and make a decision. You don't have to do the event, just come down.

Quick question though... please tell me that you were kidding about buying a $220 pickle fork.
