Originally had this posted in the wheel and tire forum, but realized I would probably get better responses here. (Mods instead of towing this thread could you please just delete the other?)
Just wanted to get some final opinions on tire fitment before I finalize my order for new tires.
I'm going to be running a 17x9 et 42 wheel on all four corners. The fronts will be using a 12 or 15mm spacer to clear the TCKline struts(could I get away with a 10mm?). I was originally going to go with a 245/40/17, but 255's are only marginally more expensive and the same weight, so I figured why not stuff as much rubber as possible underneath the car.
Tires will be Yokoham S.Drive's. Will these fit without too much trouble or am I better off sticking to 245's? The car is lowered on TCK S/A's as shown:
Current tires are 225/50/16.
Thanks for the help!
sorry i cant be help, but your car looks great! where in the bay are you at?

wow that is close. So a 12mm or a 15 mm would do for the OP?.
You'll want a 15 or 18 and you should likely get some wheel studs if you don't already have them.
Garage sale coming soon, watch this space.
there is a pinky worth of space in there. Do note the angle of the strut tube vs. the wheel. An even better way to find information on this fitment would be to search for how other 17x9"et42~ wheels fit up front. Most I would do in your situation is a 12mm spacer.
search for BBS RG-R 17x9 fitment or d-force ltw-5 fitment.

It will probably come down to the tires and how low the height adjusters (collars) are set. I also have TCKline coilovers and I was running a 12mm spacer with my 45mm offset 17x9 SSRs and I had about 3mm clearance between the tire and collars and I could easily fit my index finger between the wheel and strut. But this was with 245/40 tires. If I would have run 255s I would have either needed 15mm spacers or raised the collars to clear the tire. Another option, which I didn't want to take, would be to grind off some of the collar.
Hope this helps.
