    My 5.0l m62 build

Well, finally got around to take some pic's of my engine build by Rebello Racing in Antioch, Ca. I am using oversized JE pistons, Eagle rods, port-n-polish heads with stock valves, steel sleeved engine block and of course, my favorite: custom S62 crankshaft. This will be getting a Vortech V2T sq and RMS custom intake manifold/aftercooler.

    Is that it's current condition?

Is Rebello tuning this as well? If so, do you have contact information? I am in need of some help on my build: lumpy idle and starting issues. I do have 300 miles on it though

I'll definitely be following your footsteps with a supercharger at some point. Keep it up!

Rebello Racing is doing the engine build only.

Any chance we could see some bigger pics? The thumbnails aren't linking to anything else.

does rebello do a lot of bmw work? I've heard of them, just not in bmw circles. My s38 will need some freshening in the not too distant future.

So are you using the stock modified m60 block? What needs to be modified on the s62 crank to work?

The chain-drive at the least. I believe the S62 uses a dual chain camshaft drive. I'm sure we shall be filled in with full details.

    No, I used a modified M62 block/heads from a 1996 740i: non-vanos OBD1.I had a CPS welded on.

Correct. I had the S62 crankshaft modified. You can see from the pic's I had 1 row removed and then the crankshaft balanced.

How much whp was your Dinan setup? And do you have any idea of projected whp with the 5.0?

Know what PSI you will be running? And what does you compression ratio come out to with this build? Did you lower it with the crankshaft/piston/rod combo or will you be using a thicker headgasket?

Very interesting build, should make for a rocket of an e34. I always wanted an 540i-6 with the sport seats, and this seems like the perfect build to give it some sorely needed power.

My Dinan set-up ( 4.5 psi non-intercooled) dyno'd at 360 rwhp. I am going for over 600 rwhp, but we will see. Depends on if I use my 10 psi pully set-up or go for 14.5 psi (1 bar). I wil be at 9.0:1. Lowered it with the pistons. And I will have an aftercooler built into the intake manifold. Also I already have the Dinan stage3 suspension and M5 euro BBK.

Hey guys. I am somewhat embarrassed. I posted pics of the wrong pistons. Here are some pics of my custom prototype JE pistons:

Also, the rod stroke ratio of this engine is still in the 1.6 range (1.608 to be exact) after stroking, the stock rod stroke ratio was 1.718.
