    I've used multiple setups...it's not as easy as you might think. The Sunbelt system is the best I've used. Much smoother pedal application, etc. The other setups required a very heavy foot to get over the initial "hump", which resulted in some rather abrupt changes in throttle. I've got a used one for sale for $400. Also have a VANOS delete kit for $300.

    If you can fab up the parts and get something that works right (it will likely take you multiple tries) for less than $300, more power to you. Having "been there, done that", I would buy a used Sunbelt setup for $400 in a heartbeat.

    Make me an offer. We paid more for it back when we purchased it and I'm pretty sure there was a wait time to get it. Or, make one yourself and let me know how it goes.

    So buy it and tell us all about it when it's done.

    P.S. This has nothing to do with Forced Induction.

    Why not get a real standalone that can handle DBW?

    In Brian's case, that wasn't the issue. People convert to cable throttle for other reasons...

    What reason would there be to convert to a throttle cable on a race car other than budget/ecu?

    Maybe you know what I am going to say but I'll say it anyways.

    Throttle feed back for better control of the car during a race at 10/10ths.

    Cable = instant throttle response = win
    servo motor = throttle lag = fail and gettin passed by the competitor
    If I could change my E-39 to a cable I would POS drive by wire = fail
    ///J.T.///
    Lot's of new stuff hope it stays together a little longer. LOL

    DBW offers more precise control over everything than a throttle cable can.

    The "feel" of the throttle cable is just friction and spring tension. You can emulate all of that. (hell, you can put the throttle pot at the end of a gunked up old cable with a rusty spring if you really want to.)

    I said what I did because it showed that it was a technology some haven't used yet. DBW can be *faster* and *more responsive* than a cable. It can also offer more precise control.

    ...aw screw that electronic crap. I'm about ready to go back to mechanical fuel injection too! I know I have an extra set of Kinsler/Crower/Hilborn fuel injectors around here somewhere
