The process of these mods had instances which caused a lot of pain and anguish. Hopefully others who haven't done the mods yet can learn from my mistakes and do this install without a problem.
First, the water pump:
Do NOT OVERTORQUE those studs holding the water pump in place. make sure you use a torque wrench, or just be very careful. I broke one of the original threaded studs and had to drill it out. Then when installing another bolt in the same spot, it broke off inside the hole and wasn't about to drill out. Luckily our cars have a donut gasket on the pump which doesn't make the need for all studs to be essential. I bought some extreme high temp 754 degree gasket sealant from an autoparts store and it has held up excellently.
Second, Evosport's 1st Generation underdrive pulleys have issues. the power steering pulley has a machined lip that rubs on 2 of the power steering pump's bolts. you have to file down the bolts and shave the inner machined lip on the pulley to allow clearance.
Alternator pulley is easiest to install when alternator is removed. you'll need a belt to hold the actual pulley while your use an air wrench to get the bolt off.
Oh, make sure your ROUTE THE BELT CORRECTLY!! and use the belt that came with the kit. i was a dope and mixed up the two belts and my car
Overheated - the water pump wasn't spinning
Check engine light came on
Transmission light came on
ABS light came on first
SRS light came on and car died.
Do one thing at a time! Do not take everything off at once like me and not know or remember how stuff went on!
It is important that you follow all directions at www.Understeer.com or the ones provided by the company you decide to get pulleys from.
hope this helps those that are planning on doing this mod. And make sure you have a little money set aside in case somethinggoes wrong and you need to pay a mechanic to fix it. These mods brought a nice boost of power and a much easier reving engine! Good luck and be careful

no fan
How was the fan delete install? Do you feel it's worth it?

Fan Delete is DEFINITELY well worth!!
I'm kind of cautious about it with the really hot muggy summers we have here, do you think it would be a problem with over heating?Originally posted by BMWg84

You can do the fan delete with all of the parts, then when it gets hot you just put the fan back in. It takes all of 5 minutes to put the fan back on. I run mine June-Aug.

Really? So you don't have to do the opposite of the original fan delete just to install the fan?Originally posted by CABimmer

Nope, just take of the plastic cover and screw on the fan. Thats it. When it cools off just take the fan out.

exactly, just slap the old fan back on. unless you have a bum fan clutch like me ... which squeels when hot
does anyone have a working fan clutch that they are willing to sell cheap?
Did you mean when it cools down take the fan out?Originally posted by CABimmer
