I replaced the rear lights on my 98 with LEDS because the original ones were giving me fault messges. Now the LEDs are doing the same thing. BMW says to replace with new factory tail lights.
I heard there's a 'program' you can install to get rid of the error messages. Does anyone know what it may be?
Thanks

Have a technical question, don't send me a PM but post it on the board so others can benefit from it!

I googled it & was looking at it.
I still don't know what to do....
Guess I need a computer dude to figure this out......
If you buy this and an Ibus interface you can code off the lights and get rid of the error messages

Navcoder is software that you run on a computer (preferably a laptop that you can take out to the car easier), and the iBus interface is the cable that goes between the computer and the car. When you run the software, you have the option of telling the car's computer to ignore various warning messages, like the taillights. You can also recode a lot of the computer controlled items in the car with that software. There are no other parts to buy, and nothing to actually install in the car.
$25 for navcoder? Don't think I paid anything for it....
"You know you're not the first..."
Right. I got it free from here:

All you need is Navcoder and the Resler interface...or you can make an interface yourself. If your CDC has the 3 pin connection you can just plug it in to that...12v, Ground, Ibus. You will probably want to get the connectors from the dealer for a few bucks and make a little harness that way you won't have to pull the CDC every time.
I use a serial to USB connection for the interface and it works pretty well. It's great to be able to code your own stuff...all thanks to kiwi and resler. :-)
