I think some guys in the uk rent the right tool. I think you should look into it, if you have the time.

Used the Franklin tool from Jase007 yesterday, took me a little under four hours including jacking up the car. What a super easy job with the right tooling! Can't wait for the test drive and I am shooting myself for waiting so long to do this job. I really hope the banging over bumps is resolved like everyone indicates. I will post a follow up after my test drive
I'd like to pick up that tool next.
Here ya go!

Like so many that have added to this thread, it couldn't have been easier with the right tool (thanks Jared). It took me about 3 hours once the car was on stands. If u can change your brakes you can do this job.
I would suggest disconnecting the abs and pad wear sensors from the subframe as the wires pulled tighter than I liked. Not at the connection points but the mid-way holders. I also removed the rear most muffler hanger (13mm nut) to allow the exhaust to move down. Be mindful of the exhaust at the cross member forward of the differential. I have a 528it manual with base suspension and had no difficulty with space on the driver side.
Thank you for this thread, it was a big help!

Looking for the parts and tool filled out the contact info on the web site two times and have not had a response, is it still available?

The car completely changed after the new SFB's were installed. Rear is less loose, no noise going over speed bumps and overall handling is improved. The front struts are next and some new parts in the front end are still needed. But overall it's worth it at 100k.

You should make sure to check your communication. Not only did we send instructions and return status a while ago, we responded to you yesterday. We also just responded again forwarding yesterday's email.
My guess is your spam box is full of our communications.
Did this to my 530dA Touring about a week ago. Took me about 3,5hours with coffee break.
Huge difference:
- Nasty clunk is gone when hitting bumps
- Heavy vibration when going 62mph+ is gone
- Rear is a lot stiffer
I bought my own tool from Germany and it cost 100USD.

who has the tool? Id love to take care of this. just did the front, now I am itching to do the back.
I also bought my tool from Harbor Freight. The tool is normally around $100 but they always run sales and with one of their super coupons (which aren't that hard to locate) that gave me 20% off on top of the sale price I also picked up the tool for around $50 and it will be used with other projects of mine in the future. I will say this though, before purchasing the tool sit in the store and open the cases up that they come in. You will see that they aren't the best of quality and many of them are not very true. Buying a random one would be fine but if you want it to be close to straight and true as possible, go through them. No one will care and it will make for better projects down the road
I just finished this touring subframe project.
With the correct tool, the job was satisfying!
Just a few notes, as for the rear angle indicators, make sure
you unbolt the sensor from the subframe. I thought if I disconnect
a link thats it.
NOT TRUE: its a wire length issue. i caught my mistake before i ripped the wires out.
I am adding to the tool kit. its a combo wrench that has a ratchet
on the box end. instead of changing from short to deep sockets, just use the wrench.
I found this to be the easiest.
Just a BIG TEXAS shout out to Jason!
Thank you for letting me use this great expensive tool.
I will always own a BMW.
Glad things went smoothly with the repair.
Subframe bushing replacement was probably the single best improvement I've made to my touring in 7 tears of ownership ... running neck and neck with replacing the dual-vanos seals.
Cheers!
so are these stock things really fluid filled? I am getting some weird vibrations that go away at 75-80 mph and some hard bangs when hitting bumps on the poopy mn 94 freeway.
Nick:
You can jack up your touring in the rear, support with jack stands, support rear diff with jack and drop one of the sub frame bolts to inspect the condition of your bushings. Would probably take a total of 15 minutes.
Cheers.
