I have a 1993 740il.
Yetsreday, I suddenly blew an a/c fuse. The fuse also covers horn and aux water pump, but it appears to be the a/c that is causing the fuse to blow.
As soon as the a/c is turned on, the fuse blows. The correct fuse is 15A. I installed a 30A fuse just to see what happens, and the a/c worked fine for the few seconds I let it run.
1. Any diagnosis or steps to take towards pinpointing the problem would be greatly appreciated.
2. Any thoughts on the risks of running with a 30A fuse until parts can be obtained and repair made (remember it's hot as Hades here).
Many thanks!

Can you run the "heat", ie run everything in the ac system except for the compressor itself? If so, chances are you've got a compressor going bad. Otherwise, it'll probally be a blower resistance issue.
