'92 525i with 5 speed manual with 182,000. Replaced fuel pump a few months ago. Also flex disc, ABS unit, front struts and radiator within the last year after buying from PO who basically gave it up for dead at 162k miles. This just keeps running and if treat it proper, lasts forever.
225,0xx. It's always been daily driven, and I'm DDing it as well as slowly modding it. All drivetrain components are original to the best of my knowledge.
When I was shopping for E34s, I came across a 525i in San Jose for a thousand bucks with 780k on it.

I love reading these threads. I got 185K miles on my car. DD. Motor was changed at ~45K miles.
Just bought mine with 182,054 on it, and have put 700 miles since owning it 10 days. I'm not pounding on though for a few reasons: don't know the complete history, the flex disk (guibo?) is hard and cracked, there is a small oil leak in the front... it's a great first BMW!
250k on the body, 150k on the Alusil swap. Runs like a champ too...
Best recent quote: 'I got passed the other day by a 535. He was doing the speed limit. I was trying to do the speed limit.' -FieroZ34
282,347 miles....Original Diff, Trans, Rebuilt engine, Rebuilt Head, New cooling system components, rebuilt driveshaft, plus many more repairs
currently at 228k, full synthetic all its life, every 6.5k like clock work, factory everything, doesnt even burn oil... yet
202K miles, daily driven.

Major things replaced:
-Fuel pump
-Driveshaft flex joint
-Control arms
-1 hub bearing
Bought it at 136K miles with nothing more than tune-ups and tire changes since it was brand new. This car is a beast.

Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?
over 316,000 miles now...
133436 miles, mine is a baby! Recently changed stock water pump (plastic, it broke when I took it), thermostat, belts, fan clutch and spark plugs. It pulls strong.
Stock clutch. Recently changed front stock brakes, and it´s running on stock rear brakes, it needs a change.
I'll be hitting 200,000 by the end of the year. Besides the suspension, drives great.
Just crossed 273k on my 94 525i doing a 90 mile round trip daily commute. I just do the normal inspection I and II.
I love driving this car. However, I did just get a 99 E36 and it is a lot of fun to drive.
My mileage is weak...153,700 right now. Bought at 102k in September 2006.

175k, dd, new water pump, fuel pump, fuel filter, CPS. It runs, but needs a lot of work. Has some oil on top of pistons, 1,3 and 4, needs valve cover gasket, oil pan gasket, and a good tune-up.
89 525i Total miles = 553K Does this beat everyone?
Not really; I have twins. Both are 1989 525i with the same color and interior. My favorite has 301,295 miles and the other started out as a parts car; it has 242K and somehow I just could not resist tinkering with it and ultimately fixed it. Now I have tough choices to make when I have to decide which one to drive. Neither one uses any oil and both run incredibly strong. The best part is when something isn't working quite right, I can easily swap parts before buying any unnecessary parts.
i just turned my non-vanos m50 over 200k. it is my year round daily, and still lots of life left.

BMW Parts Whore... BUY THEM PLEASE!!!
Hey off-topic but is there a way to check if engine was swapped under warranty? Carfax does not show anything; I wounder if there is BMW database for services performed or something?
I own mostly junk. Except the Porsche, that's kind of cool.
All the motorcycles are trash which you can read about at

I'll update it eventually

Not quite 200k yet (197k) but I drive it daily on my 75 mile round trip to work'n'back.
All original, except for Dinan chip. Well, the tranny was replaced under warranty with about 20k miles on it (I bought the car in '96 with 10k miles on it).
My secret to its longevity is: When the service light comes on, I have it serviced. When something breaks, I fix it.
Bought it @ 340.031 now has almost 341.000 and i am in love with the car already. 92' 525i (pics soon)

315k km
2/89 535i/5, only 186k. Throwout bearing died at 183k, and at about 180k we had to spend $2k on overheating problems but that was before I was on this forum and educating myself, so who really knows if it was even necessary.
If it did not have rear body damage, I would expect to see it hit 300k with me. I am on the lookout for the next 535i/5, maybe I will pick one up with crazy milage =p

...I was within 25 miles of 300K. Could have rolled over last night.
Had to replace the differential recently, $180 off eBay, with shipping, and $300 for the labor. (Not a job I wanted to tackle without a lift.)
