damn.....seems like all the Indiana guys are indy and north....or close to it........you all need to come down to jeffersonville, which is directly across the highway 65 bridge into louisville, KY. It usually stays a little warmer down here..... And louisville is a pretty cool place.

Live in Washington now mostly for military purposes, but I go back to Kokomo, IN for a few weeks a couple times a year. Hopefully I can get to a meet when I'm visiting this April

Still looked like a clean car, didnt see it up close. Try and round up a group to come down with

For the rundown:

CPS: OK
Fuel Pump: R/R yesterday when I was convinced that was the problem, OK
Fuel flow: both pumps OK
TPS: OK
AFM: OK
Fuel pump relay: swapped w/ O2 no faults followed
Coil: out of range but not by much (800 ohms secondary)
O2: OK
Plugs: 40 mile NGK's
Plug wires: no visible damage, no arcing

Have not checked cap, rotor, DME

Any ideas?

Swap caps, does it do it more when there is more moister outside?

I think it might be the AFM. I finally threw a 1215 code last night. This morning the car would not start with the AFM plugged in. I unplugged it and it started. Plugging the AFM back in, the car runs rich and idles poorly. I'm trying to find an AFM to borrow now.

If it is the AFM, instead of buying a stock part, I think going to buy that Miller MAF conversion. It's cheaper than a new AFM and contains no moving parts.

They have a package, WAR chip + MAF for $600 The MAF alone comes with a chip in order to run the MAF for $299


It's pretty enticing. I don't have any plans right now to do any FI or stroker stuff to my car. The best part of buying it would be I could learn how the chip tuning program works and if I ever did engine modifications, that part of it would already be installed. I think I'll just go with the MAF if needed.

With that being said, does anyone local have an M20 AFM I could borrow for a couple hours?
