Well went to Schmidt machine shop and talked to the head machine guy and he said he can do it but just don't like the BMW heads or block ESP the aluminum but was a cool guy real informative and helpful.
Hey guys. I'm going to jump in here, if it's OK. I am less than an hour north of you, in Gas City. I retired from motorcycling and acquired my brother's 2001 Z3 3.0 Roadster this last fall, so I'm a newbie to BMW. He bought the car new in Texas where it stayed for the first half of its life, but it was rarely driven once he moved to Michigan, where it sat in a heated garage. The car was covered, but the top was down for 10 years, and it still has the original wiper blades.
Also, I haven't met my neighbor yet, but he also has a Z3, a really nice Coupe that is rarely seen.
Needless to say, I have the usual list of items that need attention and am gradually checking them off my list. Just wanted to say hi as I might need advice. So far, I have replaced the valve cover gasket and rebuilt the vanos, replaced rear shocks and installed top mounts, replaced dead pedal, exhaust tips and I expect to change seat bushings, restore some leather, replace subwoofer, touch up a couple of chips, and get the alloys refurbished (mostly peeling paint). Other than that, I'm getting anxious for spring. -Steve
Head Solutions in Lebanon. He did my E36 M3 top and bottom end. Defouw BMW as well as Reggie's Motorworks send their stuff there.
Guy's name is Kevin Tucker, he is old school and has forgotten more about cars than we will ever know. He is amazing.

Imola red E46 M3 w/ a Purdue license plate spotted in Fort Wayne (SW area). At first I thought I was seeing my own car from a distance but upon closer inspection it had 18" wheels, red interior (I think), and non-LED tails. Anyone on here?
Welcome. I'm about an hour to your north in Fort Wayne.

Thanks roarf. Say, when and where do the Indiana Bimmers get together? Is Michigan the closest meet? -Steve
Anyone have a good condition / low mile center section (cats) from an OBD2 E36 M3?
A great place to take your BMW or other makes is Doug Walker in Morristown In. About 20 miles east of Indy, but well worth the drive. He has 20+ years inxs. as BMW certified mechanic. Phone number is 317, 616, 8293.. He has worked on all my cars with never a regret.
Lets get the party started before it's my bedtime.
The Hoosier BMW CCA chapter is pretty active. Most of the meetings and events are in and around Indy but sometimes there are drives that go all over the state. You can check the calendar of events here.

How many guys on here are in the indy or surrounding area? I'd be interested in setting up a meet and greet at our shop in indy.

I'm in the Kokomo area about an hour North of Indy, but I'm usually down that way on the weekends.
I haven't been active in awhile since my M3 has been sitting for a couple years, but I'm currently working on a engine rebuild to get her back on the streets in a couple months. Wish I had more time and money to show up to Street Car Takeover.
I will be outside working on the M tomorrow (Friday 4/22) if anyone is downtown.

I work a shop in town called Pete's Service Center. The name is very unbecoming. We do only euro's and classic cars. We host a few pca meets a year. I have the go ahead to start heading up a bmw meet here at the shop. We can do anything from a Saturday meet and greet to lining up some tech sessions with a bmw certified master mechanic. Whatever you guys what to do. Myself, I'm a bit of a street racer. I like to meet up and hit the streets later at night on the weekends.

Pete's down by Butler?? Cool! Yes, tech sessions and a wrench fest where we can help each other out would be awesome.
They have wrench fests out west all the time and I'm jealous.

I'm up for a tech session.
What kind of tech sessions would you guys like to have? Common problems, performance, maintenance? We can host any and all of these. I'm sure if we wanted to, we could scare up something cool like a new m4 or i8 to take a look at. Just looking for ideas to get enthusiasts together and have a good time.
