As title says, my driver side stopped working one day but then came back all at once. I am assuming head unit poor connection or the stock HK amp?

sounds like more investigation and digging into that issue. I always find myself with a bunch of tools and 2 hours later scenario.
More likely corroded connection in door (at that's a more humid environment).
Could be lots of things though....
Well if all the speakers on one side stop working and then start working (kickpanel, doors, rear vert speakers) then it sounds like a single point of failure

Head unit.
Not sure if it has the same amp set-up as my E53, but I suspect it is similar. If so, the connectors at the amp have a tendency to corrode and result in issues like the one you are having. I pulled my amp last year for a full sound system upgrade and sure enough there was some corrosion in the connectors...mostly on the pins on the amp side.
