I can't read that much German, either, but it looks like the advance or retard oil solenoid valve is bad. Dr VANOS will replace those valves along with refurbishing the rest of the unit. I wouldn't bother opening up the VANOS to replace just one valve, so a completely rebuilt unit is a better choice.

Does the Dr Vanos kit come with new solenoids? The price is like $400 and I spent around that replacing both sets of solenoids in my motor. I can't imagine the kit comes with new ones (over even refurbed ones).
It's not speed that kills, it's the speed difference that does. Obviously you aren't going fast enough.

I read a list of the 100 things you MUST do before you die. Funny, "Yelling 'HELP'" didn't make the list!

Hmm, I don't see that listed under the $300 rebuild price. I'm sure they can replace those solenoids for additional cost, but you just have to contact them. My exhaust solenoid cover just started leaking, great. I should be able to replace that small cover gasket without major surgery, though...

You have noticed this problem before I did.
I would highly recommend looking at the following. That Gasket s NOT there to keep oil in, it holds the solenoids in place. There should be no oil in that chamber in the first place.

I nearly lost my motor over this. You will need to replace the O-Rings on the solenoid.

    Details here
