I've heard of this before.....I may wait untill a few more people give it a try OR I see some dyno results or 1/4 times from onetrillion befrore I give it a try. I have to replace the vale cover gasket anyways. I'm anxious to see the results. Later, Johnny.

This is less adjustment than the vanos motors make back and forth every time you drive your car. Also.. BMW made adjustable cam gears for the non vanos motors, I've seen a few sets for sale. They allowed for much more adjustment.
I've played with this in the past and usually advance my intake cam a little. It does make a little difference, and when you're pushing an e34 around with an M50, you gotta take all you can get.
Does it work? Sure it does. Would I recommend a noob do it? Hell no. Are the gains bigger than maybe 5-10hp? Highly unlikely. It's the sort of thing I'd play with if I were looking to eek out every last ounce from a built car, if there were nothing left I could do. Considering there aren't too many cars that would fit that category, and most would be in an e34 or e36, I'd just leave it alone.
Go ahead and bite. Plenty for everyone.
Obviously, this works. Obviously, it should not be a "seat of the pants" mod, but something done with a lot of testing and hopefully on the dyno. Can it be dangerous? yes. Can it make power? yes.
come on now guys you didnt know that if you take all the cam gear bolts halfway out and leave them its like a 90hp gain its a good idea try it.....
Ignorance is bliss. That is all.
Later, Johnny.

I am not sure if you can advance the cam enough to have valve interference or not, but I am certain you can advance the cam enough that the car won't idle. Be careful.
good bye my m50tu
I can see some people now: "this is one of those more is better things"
